Army Pvt. Algernon Adams, 36, of Aiken, South Carolina.

Adams died of non-combat related injuries at Forward Operating Base St. Mere, Iraq. Adams was assigned to the 122nd Engineer Battalion, Army National Guard, Edgefield, South Carolina. Died on October 28, 2003.

Army Pfc. Michael S. Adams, 20, of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Adams was participating in a small arms fire exercise on the range when a bullet ricocheted and ignited a fire in the building. He died in Baghdad, Iraq as a result of injuries sustained during the fire. Adams was assigned to 1st Battalion, 35th Armor Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany. Died on August 21, 2003.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Carl L. Anderson, Jr., 21, of Georgetown, South Carolina.

Anderson died as result of enemy action near Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 3rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. Died on August 29, 2004.

Army Spc. Katrina L. Bell-Johnson, 32, of Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Bell-Johnson died in Ba'qubah, Iraq, when she was involved in a vehicle accident. She was assigned to the 418th Transportation Company, 180th Transportation Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on February 16, 2005.

Army Sgt. George Edward Buggs, 31, of Barnwell, South Carolina.

Killed in action after his convoy was ambushed in Iraq on March 23, 2003. He was assigned to the 3rd Forward Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Army Pfc. Thomas D. Caughman, 20, of Lexington, South Carolina.

Caughman died in Baghdad, Iraq when his up-armored high-mobility-multi-purpose wheeled vehicle was struck by rocket propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's Company C, 391st Engineer Battalion, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Died on June 9, 2004.

Marine Staff Sgt. Jay T. Collado, 31, of Columbia, South Carolina.

Collado died from an improvised explosive device near Baghdad, Iraq. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he was attached to the 4th Infantry Division. He was assigned to Marine Light/Attack Helicopter Squadron-267, Marine Aircraft Group-39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on February 20, 2006.

Army Sgt. Andrew J. Derrick, 25, of Columbia, South Carolina.

Derrick died near Baghdad, Iraq when his dismounted team came under attack by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 411th Military Police Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on September 23, 2005.

Army Spc. Rian C. Ferguson, 22, of Taylors, South Carolina.

Ferguson died of injuries sustained in Quinn, Iraq when he fell from the light medium tactical vehicle in which he was a passenger. Ferguson was assigned to the Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on December 14, 2003.

Marine 2nd Lt. Almar L. Fitzgerald, 23, of Lexington, South Carolina.

Fitzgerald died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany from wounds received on February 18, 2006 as a result of an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was attached to the 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California. Died on February 21, 2006.

Marine Lance Cpl. Travis A. Fox, 25, of Cowpens, South Carolina.

Fox died due to enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Died on October 30, 2004.

Army Sgt. Donald D. Furman, 30, of Burton, South Carolina.

Furman died in Balad, Iraq when his military vehicle collided with a civilian vehicle and overturned. He was assigned to the 24th Transportation Company, 541st Maintenance Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on October 12, 2005.

Army 2nd Lt. Clifford V. Gadsden, 25, of Red Top, South Carolina.

Gadsden died in Balad, Iraq, when a vehicle-born improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle. He was assigned to the 603rd Transportation Company, 142nd Corps Support Battalion, Warrior Brigade, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on April 29, 2005.

Marine Lance Cpl. Jonathan E. Gadsden, 21, of Charleston, South Carolina.

Gadsden died at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in Tampa, Florida, from injuries as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq on August 21, 2004. He was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on October 22, 2004.

Army Capt. Kimberly N. Hampton, 27, of Easley, South Carolina.

Hampton was the pilot on a OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, Armed Reconniasiance Helicopter when it was shot down by enemy ground fire. She was Troop Commander of Delta Troop, 1st Squadron 17th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on January 2, 2004.

Army Spc. Seth A. Hildreth, 26, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Hildreth died in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Hildreth was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 27, 2006.

Army Pfc. Melissa J. Hobart, 22, of Ladson, South Carolina.

Hobart died in Baghdad, Iraq, after collapsing while on guard duty. She was assigned to Company E, 215th Forward Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on June 6, 2004.

Marine Pvt. Nolen R. Hutchings, 19, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina.

Killed in action. Hutchings was engaged in operations on the outskirts of An Nasiriyah on March 23, 2003. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Army Spc. Darius T. Jennings, 22, of Cordova, South Carolina.

Jennings was onboard a CH-47 Chinook helicopter when it went down in Al Fallujah, Iraq. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time and an investigation is underway. Jennings was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on November 2, 2003.

Army Sgt. Anthony G. Jones, 25, of Greenville, South Carolina.

Jones died in Baghdad, Iraq, where an improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle. He was assigned to the 104th Transportation Company, 36th Engineer Group, 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on June 14, 2005.

Army CWO Patrick D. Leach, 39, of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Leach died in Mosul, Iraq after being involved in an Apache helicopter accident. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 151st Aviation Regiment, South Carolina National Guard, Columbia, South Carolina. Died on December 9, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Jerome Lemon, 42, of North Charleston, South Carolina.

Lemon died in Balad, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle. He was assigned to 1052nd Transportation Company, Army National Guard, Kingstree, South Carolina. Died on October 27, 2004.

Army Pfc. Vorn J. Mack, 19, of Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Mack jumped into the Euphrates River near the Hadithah Dam, west of Ar Ramadi, Iraq to take a swim and did not resurface. A search party found Mack's body downstream on August 24. Mack was assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on August 23, 2003.

Army Spc. Jason L. Moski, 24, of Blackville, South Carolina.

Moski died in Taji, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was on dismounted patrol. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 1st Field Artillery, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on February 25, 2005.

Army Staff Sgt. Paul M. Neff II, 30, of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Neff died when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was in was shot down by unknown enemy ordnance in Tikrit, Iraq. He was assigned to 5th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on November 7, 2003.

Army Spc. Anthony C. Owens, 21, of Conway, South Carolina.

Owens died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on February 1, 2006.

Army Staff Sgt. Esau G. Patterson, Jr., 25, of Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Patterson died in Baghdad, Iraq, when a vehicle approached his unit and the driver detonated a bomb. He was assigned to 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany. Died on April 29, 2004.

Marine Sgt. John P. Phillips, 29, of St. Stephen, South Carolina.

Phillips died at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, from wounds received while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq, on March 7. He was assigned to 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan. Died on August 16, 2006.

Army 1st Lt. Andrew C. Shields, 25, of Campobello, South Carolina.

Shields died in Mosul, Iraq after being involved in an Apache helicopter accident. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 151st Aviation Regiment, South Carolina National Guard, Columbia, South Carolina. Died on December 9, 2004.

Army Sgt. Orenthial J. Smith, 21, of Allendale, South Carolina.

Smith was in a convoy that was ambushed by small arms fire in Baghdad, Iraq. Smith was assigned to Company A, 123rd Main Support Battalion, Dexheim, Germany. Died on June 22, 2003.

Army Sgt. Anthony O. Thompson, 26, of Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Thompson was killed in an ambush by small arms fire and rocket propelled grenade in Tikrit, Iraq. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on September 18, 2003.

Marine Lance Cpl. Joshua L. Torrence, 20, of Lexington, South Carolina.

Torrence died of wounds received as a result of hostile action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on March 14, 2005.

Marine Cpl. David G. Weimortz, 28, of Irmo, South Carolina.

Weimortz died from injuries suffered while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on August 26, 2006.

Yancey died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during convoy operations. He was assigned to the 26th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on November 4, 2005.

Bartels died in Mosul, Iraq of a non-combat related cause identified there on October 18, 2005. He was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Died on October 19, 2005.

Army Pfc. Gunnar D. Becker, 19, of Forestburg, South Dakota.

Becker died in Mosul, Iraq, of non-combat related injuries. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany. Died on January 13, 2005.

Army Sgt. Jeremiah J. Boehmer, 22, of Parkston, South Dakota.

Boehmer died in Al Husayniyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Stryker Engineer Squad Vehicle. He was assigned to the 562nd Engineer Company, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Died on February 5, 2006.

Marine Lance Cpl. Jeremy L. Bohlman, 21, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Bohlman died from hostile action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on June 7, 2004.

Brooks died in Baghdad, Iraq, of non-combat related injuries. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 153rd Engineer Battalion, based in Winner, South Dakota. Died on April 24, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Daniel M. Cuka, 27, of Yankton, South Dakota.

Cuka died in Baghdad, Iraq, when improvised explosive devices detonated near his HMMWV during convoy operations. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 147th Field Artillery, Yankton, South Dakota. Died on December 4, 2005.

Army Pfc. Michael R. Deuel, 21, of Nemo, South Dakota.

Deuel received fatal gun shot wounds while on guard duty at a propane distribution center in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on June 18, 2003.

Army CWO Hans N. Gukeisen, 31, of Lead, South Dakota.

Gukeisen was onboard an UH-60 air medical helicopter which crashed in the Tigris River in a non-hostile incident near Samarrah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 571st Air Medical Company, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on May 9, 2003.

Army Spc. Patrick W. Herried, 29, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Herried died in Rawah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Stryker military vehicle during patrol operations. He was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Died on February 6, 2006.

Army Sgt. Allen D. Kokesh, Jr., 21, of Yankton, South Dakota.

Kokesh died at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, of injuries sustained in Baghdad, Iraq, on December 4, 2005 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 147th Field Artillery, Yankton, South Dakota. Died on February 7, 2006.

Army Staff Sgt. Jason W. Montefering, 27, of Parkston, South Dakota.

Montefering died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on July 24, 2005.

Army CWO Paul J. Pillen, 28, of Keystone, South Dakota.

Pillen died in Salwa, Kuwait of a non-combat related cause. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 249th Aviation, Rapid City, South Dakota. Died on October 17, 2005.

Army CW2 Scott A. Saboe, 33, of Willow Lake, South Dakota.

Saboe died when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on November 15, 2003.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Richard L. Schild, 40, of Tabor, South Dakota.

Schild died in Baghdad, Iraq, when improvised explosive devices detonated near his HMMWV during convoy operations. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 147th Field Artillery, Yankton, South Dakota. Died on December 4, 2005.

Army Capt. Christopher F. Soelzer, 26, of South Dakota.

Soelzer died when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device on Highway One near Samarra, Iraq. He was assigned to the 5th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Died on December 24, 2003.

Army Staff Sgt. Gregory A. Wagner, 35, of Mitchell, South Dakota.

Wagner died of injuries sustained in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised fire projectile struck his HMMWV during combat operation. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 147th Field Artillery, Yankton, South Dakota. Died on May 8, 2006.

Marine Lance Cpl. Joseph T. Welke, 20, of Rapid City, South Dakota.

Welke died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, from wounds received as a result of enemy action on November 19, 2004 in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Died on November 20, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Nathan J. Bailey, 46, of Nashville, Tennessee.

Bailey died from a non-hostile gunshot wound in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. He was assigned to the 1175th Transportation Company, Army National Guard, Tullahoma, Tennessee. Died on November 12, 2003.

Marine Cpl. David A. Bass, 20, of Nashville, Tennessee.

Bass died when the seven-ton truck he was riding in rolled over in a flash flood near Al Asad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on April 2, 2006.

Army Staff Sgt. Brock A. Beery, 30, of White House, Tennessee.

Beery died in Habbaniyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his LMTV followed by enemy small arms fire during combat operations. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 123rd Armor Regiment, Bowling Green, Kentucky. Died on March 23, 2006.

Bennett died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq of wounds received when his unit executed a raid on enemy forces. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on September 12, 2003.

Blaise died when his OH-58 Kiowa Warrior helicopter crashed on its way back from a combat mission near Mosul in northern Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 101st Aviation Brigade, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on January 23, 2004.

Army Sgt. Kenneth W. Harris, Jr., 23, of Charlotte, Tennessee.

Harris was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident while driving south on the main supply route in Scania, Iraq. Harris was assigned to the 212th Transportation Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Died on August 20, 2003.

Harrison died in Mosul, Iraq, when his HMMWV was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 293rd Military Police Company, 3rd Military Police Battalion (Provisional), 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on December 2, 2004.

Hawn died of injuries sustained on August 13, 2005, in Tuz, Iraq, while he was conducting a mounted patrol his HMMWV came under attack by enemy forces using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. Collins was riding in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle when it hit an improvised explosive device in Fallujah, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on November 8, 2003.

Army Spc. Zeferino E. Colunga, 20, of Bellville, Texas.

Colunga was initially evacuated to the 28th Combat Support Hospital in Iraq on August 4, 2003. He was then evacuated to Landstuhl Army Regional Medical Center and later to Homburg University Hospital in Germany for further evaluation. He remained at Homburg until his death. His death was unrelated to the recent cases of pneumonia in Southwest Asia. Colunga was assigned to 4th Squadron, 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on August 6, 2003.

Marine Lance Cpl. Pedro Contreras, 27, of Harris, Texas.

Contreras died from hostile fire in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on June 21, 2004.

Das was the pilot of an F-15E that went down during a combat mission in Iraq. He was assigned to the 333rd Fighter Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina. Died on April 7, 2003.

Army Spc. Lauro G. DeLeon, Jr., 20, of Floresville, Texas.

DeLeon died in Balad, Iraq, when improvised explosive devices detonated near his convoy. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 644th Transportation Company, Beaumont, Texas. Died on September 8, 2004.

Army Pfc. Ervin Dervishi, 21, of Fort Worth, Texas.

Dervishi died in Baji, Iraq, during a combat patrol when a rocket-propelled grenade hit the Bradley Fighting Vehicle in which he was traveling. He was evacuated to the 28th Combat Support Hospital where he later died. Dervishi was assigned the Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on January 24, 2004.

Dones died in Hit, Iraq when his forward operating base was attacked by enemy forces using indirect fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, California. Died on October 20, 2005.

Eggers died in Habbaniyah, Iraq, when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 2d Infantry Division, Camp Greaves, Korea. Died on December 5, 2004.

Army Pfc. Analaura Esparza-Gutierrez, 21, of Houston, Texas.

Esparza-Gutierrez was in a convoy that was hit by an improvised explosive device and rocket propelled grenades in Tikrit, Iraq. Esparza-Gutierrez died of her injuries. She was assigned to A Company, 4th Forward Support Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October 1, 2003.

Army Pvt. Ruben Estrella-Soto, 18, of El Paso, Texas.

Killed in action after his convoy was ambushed in Iraq on March 23, 2003. He was assigned to the 507th Maintenance Company, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Army Staff Sgt. Christopher L. Everett, 23, of Huntsville, Texas.

Everett died in Al Taqqadum, Iraq, when an accident occurred in the motor pool. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 112th Armor Regiment, 56th Brigade Combat Team, Arlington, Texas. Died on September 7, 2005.

Garza was riding in a HMMWV that swerved to avoid a civilian vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq. Graza fell out and was struck by a civilian vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on April 28, 2003.

Grant died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Camp Howze, Korea. Died on November 26, 2004.

Army Master Sgt. Kelly L. Hornbeck, 36, of Fort Worth, Texas.

Hornbeck sustained injuries on January 16 when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle, south of Samarra, Iraq. He was initially evacuated to the 21st Combat Support Hospital and then moved to the 28th CSH for further treatment where he later died. Hornbeck was assigned to Company C, 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on January 18, 2004.

Horrigan died in Al Qaim, Iraq, while conducting combat operations. He was assigned to Headquarters, Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on June 17, 2005.

Jafarkhani-Torshizi died when the CH-53E helicopter he was in crashed near Ar Rutbah, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Died on January 26, 2005.

Army Staff Sgt. Micheal E. Dooley, 23, of Pulaski, Virginia.

Dooley was manning a traffic control point in Al Asad, Iraq when a vehicle came up to the checkpoint and two individuals got out requesting a medic for their sick friend. Immediately following the request for help, they opened fire on Dooley which resulted in his death. Dooley was assigned to 1st Squadron, B Troop, 4th Platoon, 3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on June 8, 2003.

Air Force Maj. William Downs, 40, of Winchester, Virginia.

Downs died in the crash of an Iraqi air force aircraft during a training mission in eastern Diyala province. He was assigned to the 6th Special Operations Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida. Died on May 30, 2005.

Marine Capt. James C. Edge, 31, of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Edge was killed by enemy small-arms fire while conducting combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq. Swartworth died when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter she was in was shot down by unknown enemy ordnance in Tikrit, Iraq. Swartworth was the regimental warrant officer for the Judge Advocate General Office, based at Headquarters Department of the Army, Pentagon. Died on November 7, 2003.

Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Bunda, 29, of Washington.

Bunda was originally listed as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown (DUSTWUN) when his boat capsized during a river patrol on the Tigris River on January 25, 2004. His remains were recovered on February 10, 2004. Bunda was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry, Fort Lewis, Washington.

Clark died in a convoy that was attacked by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device in Fallujah. Marine Staff Sgt. Brian D. Bland, 26, of Weston, Wyoming.

Bland died when the CH-53E helicopter he was in crashed near Ar Rutbah, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Died on January 26, 2005.

Marine Lance Cpl. Kyle W. Burns, 20, of Laramie, Wyoming.

Burns died as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on November 11, 2004.

Army Capt. Robert L. Lucero, 34, of Casper, Wyoming.

Lucero died and another soldier was injured when they were struck by an improvised explosive device in Tikrit, Iraq. Lucero was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division Rear Area Operation Center, U.S. Army National Guard, Casper, Wyoming. Died on September 25, 2003.

Army Pfc. Joseph P. Mayek, 20, of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Died after being struck by an AP round that was discharged from an M2 Bradley vehicle. Mayek was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, Smith Barracks, Germany. Died on April 14, 2003.

Army 1st Lt. Leif E. Nott, 24, of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Nott died of wounds received from hostile fire in Belaruz, Iraq. Nott was assigned to A Troop, 1st Battalion, 10th Cavalry, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 30, 2003.

Marine Sgt. Brendon C. Reiss, 23, of Casper, Wyoming.

Killed in action. His unit was engaged in operations on the outskirts of An Nasiriyah on March 23, 2003. His remains were identified on April 11, 2003. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Army Spc. Darryl T. Dent, 21, of Washington, D.C.

Dent was in a convoy when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle in Southeast Arimadi, Iraq. Dent was assigned to the 547th Transportation Company, U.S. Army National Guard, based in Washington, D.C. Died on August 26, 2003.

Marine Lance Cpl. Gregory E. MacDonald, 29, of Washington, D.C.

MacDonald died in Iraq when the light armored vehicle he was traveling in rolled over. MacDonald was assigned to Bravo Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Frederick, Maryland. Died on June 25, 2003.

Marine Maj. Kevin M. Shea, 38, of Washington, D.C.

Shea died due to enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on September 14, 2004.

Army Sgt. Carlos M. Camacho-Rivera, 24, of Carolina, Puerto Rico.

Camacho-Rivera died in the 31st Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, from wounds sustained earlier that day from a rocket blast in Fallujah, Iraq. Camacho-Rivera was assigned to the 368th Transportation Company, 11th Transportation Battalion, Fort Story, Virginia. Died on November 5, 2004.

Army Sgt. Radhamés Camilo-Matos, 24, of Carolina, Puerto Rico.

Camilo-Matos died in Taji, Iraq, from non-combat related injuries. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armored Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on January 7, 2006.

Army 1st Lt. Carlos J. Diaz, 27, of Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.

Diaz died in Baqubah, Iraq, when enemy forces detonated an explosion near his position. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on August 23, 2005.

Army Spc. William Lopez-Feliciano, 33, of Quebradillas, Puerto Rico.

Lopez-Feliciano died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his position during a dismounted patrol. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on December 22, 2005.

Army Sgt. Jason Lopez-Reyes, 29, of Hatillo, Puerto Rico.

Lopez-Reyes died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during convoy operations. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 76th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on January 5, 2006.

Army Sgt. Francisco Martinez, 28, of Humacao, Puerto Rico.

Martinez was in a convoy in Baghdad, Iraq when an improvised explosive device exploded. He was assigned to B Detachment, 82nd Soldier Support Battalion (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on November 4, 2003.

Army Spc. Michael A. Martinez, 29, of Juan Diaz, Puerto Rico.

Martinez died in Baqubah, Iraq, when his military vehicle rolled over. Martinez was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 6th Field Artillery, Bamberg, Germany. Died on September 8, 2004.

Army Pfc. Antonio Mendez-Sanchez, 22, of Rincon, Puerto Rico.

Mendez-Sanchez died in Kirkuk, Iraq when his convoy vehicle was involved in a collision. He was assigned to the 40th Transportation Company, 44th Corps Support Battalion, 593rd Corps Support Group, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on November 11, 2005.

Army Spc. Richard P. Orengo, 32, of Puerto Rico.

Orengo was shot and died of injuries he received in An Najif, Iraq. Orengo was assigned to the 755th Military Police Company, Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Died on June 26, 2003.

Army Sgt. Joel Perez, 25, of Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

Perez was on board a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter when it went down in Al Fallujah, Iraq. The cause of the incident is unknown and an investigation is underway. Perez was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Died on November 2, 2003.

Army Spc. Aleina Ramirez-Gonzalez, 33, of Hormigueros, Puerto Rico.

Ramirez-Gonzalez died in Tikrit, Iraq, when a mortar struck her forward operating base. She was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Troop Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 15, 2005.

Army Sgt. Miguel A. Ramos, 39, of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

Ramos died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an enemy rocket impacted near his position. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 807th Signal Company, 35th Signal Battalion, Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. Died on May 31, 2005.

Army Spc. Ramon Reyes-Torres, 29, of Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Reyes-Torres was killed as he sought cover from a passing truck that contained a command detonated device. Reyes-Torres was assigned to the 432nd Transportation Company, Ceiba, Puerto Rico. Died on July 16, 2003.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Jose A. Rivera, 34, of Barranquitas, Puerto Rico.

Rivera was part of a patrol in Mumuhdyah, Iraq when his unit came under rocket propelled grenade and small arms fire. He was assigned to Delta Company, 3rd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on November 5, 2003.

Army Spc. Jose A. Rivera-Serrano, 26, of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

Rivera-Serrano died in Baghdad, Iraq, from wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on December 27, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Milton Rivera-Vargas, 55, of Boqueron, Puerto Rico.

Rivera-Vargas died in Kalsu, Iraq, from a non-combat related cause while on guard duty. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 296th Infantry Regiment, Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. Died on December 8, 2005.

Army Spc. Lizbeth Robles, 31, of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.

Robles died at the 228th Command Support Hospital in Tikirt, Iraq, from injuries sustained in a military vehicle accident that occurred February 28 in Bayji, Iraq. She was assigned to 360th Transportation Company, 68th Corps Support Battalion, 43rd Area Support Group, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on March 1, 2005.

Army Sgt. Juan M. Serrano, 31, of Manati, Puerto Rico.

Serrano was changing a tire on an M998 vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq when it fell on him inflicting a fatal head injury. Serrano was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Armor, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany. Died on July 24, 2003.

Army Staff Sgt. Gary A. Vaillant, 41, of Trujillo, Puerto Rico.

Vaillant died in Khalidiya, Iraq, when his tank ran over an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 72nd Armor, Camp Casey, Korea. Died on September 5, 2004.

Army Spc. Frances M. Vega, 20, of Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.

Baldwin died in Mosul, Iraq, when a suicide bomber entered his dining facility and detonated an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 7, Gulfport, Mississippi. Died on December 21, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Steven G. Bayow, 42, of Colonia Yap, Federated States of Micronesia.

Bayow died in Bayji, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2d Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on February 4, 2005.

Army Sgt. Yihjyh L. Chen, 31, of Saipan, Marianas Protectorate.

Chen died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on April 4, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Alexander B. Crackel, 31, of Wilstead Bedford, United Kingdom.

Crackel died in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, from injuries sustained from enemy small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, Camp Hovey, Korea. Died on February 24, 2005.

Dudkiewicz died in Mosul, Iraq, when his HMMWV was involved in a vehicle collision. He was assigned to the 511th Military Police Company, 91st Military Police Battalion, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on January 15, 2006.

Army Pvt. Jonathan I. Falaniko, 20, of Pago Pago, American Samoa.

Falaniko was near the Al Khadra Police Station in downtown Baghdad when a vehicle containing an improvised explosive device detonated. He was assigned to A Company, 70th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on October 27, 2003.

Army Spc. Derence W. Jack, 31, of Saipan, Marianas Islands of the Pacific.

Jack died in Balad, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during patrol operations. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry, 29th Brigade Combat Team, Barrigada, Guam. Died on October 31, 2005.

Army Spc. Farao K. Letufuga, 20, of Pago Pago, American Samoa.

Letufuga fatally fell from the top of a building while he was performing guard duty in Mosul, Iraq. Letufuga was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on August 5, 2003.

Meluat died due to enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on September 13, 2004.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Fernando A. Mendez-Aceves, 27, of Mexico City, Mexico.

Mendez-Aceves was killed in Iraq while conducting combat operations in the Al Anbar Province. He was assigned to the Naval Medical Center San Diego, First Marine Division Detachment, San Diego, California. Died on April 6, 2004.

Naputi died in Taji, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on December 20, 2005.

Santos died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his Apache helicopter collided with another military aircraft in mid-air and then crashed. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment, Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on December 26, 2005.
