"To the family of Sgt Moreno: Let me start by saying that we are forever in debt to you and SGT Moreno for the price that he paid so that we may be free. My name is Brent Beers and my daughter plays select fastpitch softball for the Texas Bombers. Our team is located in DFW but we are from Terrell. She got the unbelievable opportunity this summer to honor SGT Moreno and his sacrifice for our great nation by wearing a jersey that has his name on it. Each girl on our team had the honor to represent a soldier who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Without these soldiers we wouldnt be able to play this game we love. We completed our season with a successful nationals tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC where she wore her jersey honoring SGT Moreno while pitching us to a 5th place finish. We would love to have the opportunity for Kayla to meet his family and present to them this jersey. I hope that this reaches someone who can help to get us in touch. my contact information is below, I look forward to hearing from you.

"SGT Moreno,
I wanted to thank you for all you did for me. Serving as a member in your team was the best thing that ever happen to me. Our whole squad cryed for 2 weeks striaght when you left us, until we had no more tears left. You had the biggest heart I ever seen. The one memory I can always remeber about you was, when I did not have a place to go for Thanksgiving. I pretty much was going to microwave my dinner, but you offered me to go to Terrel, Tx with you. Instantly I felt at home. I want to thank you for allowing me to meet your beautiful daughter and son. Your dad is a hero. Always will be!!! Love you man!"

"Re: SGT Gerardo Moreno
Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,800 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

Aprovechando la ocasión, les mando mis más profundas condolencias por la muerte de este soldado y espero que las tropas vuelvan pronto a casa con sus familias y que se acabe esta guerra fraticida e injusta. Gracias"
