"I was PFC Burns VC and PltSgt for OIF1 1st LAR CCo 1st Plt. He and three other newly LAR drivers were sent to my Plt in Kuwat just before the OIF1 started. I asked the four new drivers "if your NOT retarded raise your hand" burns was the only one that rose his hand. So I took him for my driver LOL. He was a very good driver and for being very young with no real LAR experience at that time. Kyle did a Great job. During OIF1 my Plt was ambushed many times, drove many hours, received small arms, RPG, and indirect fire. PFC Burns performed his duties in an exemplary manner."

"Kyle
I will never forget that day you were takin away from us I tell my sons about you and my oldest son understand why he is named and who it is he is honoring I have found a place of peace after 7 hard years of dreams of that day and trying to figure what else I could of done for you. I replay your last words in my thoughts and I ache knowing you were but a few feet from me and not being able to keep you safe like I promised you I let you down I live with that every day. I have head the pleasure on communicating with your parents and they have helped me cope with your lost, just being able to vent to your wonderful parents has lifted a huge weight off my chest we laughed we cried but it was all about the good times and bad times we shared together to this day we keep in touch you were a friend I will always charish and admire you are a true hero to me and my family. My son will always talk of the true marine hero he is named in honor of. I miss you and keep you in my prayers Marine."

"hey man...In three days, it will have been eight years since you were killed. It's a weird feeling for me to accept this. It still doesn't seem real. I think about you everyday and wish that my daughter could have met you. She always asks about my KIA bracelt that I wear for you and I tell her about you. She looks at pictures of you on the wall and of your folded flag and asks about you. I have a lot of stories for her about you which she enjoys and I think I enjoy telling them more than she enjoys hearing them. She has visited you several times but is too young to comprehend. She says "thats where Kyle is varried". She knows that a bad guy killed you and asks why. I dont really know how to answer that for her but I reassure her that you were being brave and protecting us. That, she understands. I have twenty years worth of stories for her that you and I shared. She smiles and tells me that she misses you too! I often think of some story or time that you and I shared and wish that I could call you and remind you what idiots we were together. I'm glad we joined, and I don't regret the decision. I do miss you, though. I have wondered why you were killed and I was not but I do know that you were the kind of guy who would prefer it that way. That is the reason why you are the man you are. You were always such a "go-getter" and never backed down from anything. I respected that more than you will ever know and I am honestly still envious of that. By the way, you have missed eight years of life so far. This year wasn't so great. We elected a pussy communist as our president...again... Lola and I will see you on Sunday."

"My name is Loraine, I went to school with Kyle but never met him. When I heard of his death 6 years ago, it hit me hard for some reason. I attended his funeral and it is something I will never forget, something I think about often and has forever impacted my life. I felt very honored and very priveleged to be in attendance that day. My heart went out to his parents and family, my heart broke for them. Many times over the last 6 years, I have thought of them and wondered how they are doing. They have remained in my thoughts and prayers. I just want to say thank you for the sacrifice Kyle gave, his life for our country and our freedom, freedom truly isn't free. May God Bless and be with you all.

You taught me so much in life. How to not take things so seriously, and just go with the flow. You always lived life to the fullest and made the most of every situation. After you died I saw life in a whole new way and for that and so many other things i am greatful. I learned that we are not promised another day and to always let the ones who are dearest to you know who much they mean to you. Thanks for everything. You are a true hero and are greatly missed. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you and all you gave us.

Evil has no greater friend than anger,
Making ready converts to its cause.
On me think but of beauty as you pause,
Remembering the service of a stranger
In giving life to purchase your release.

Love of life at times requires death,
Defending what would else find hungry jaws.

"Red as the rose in the morning light
Dreary with the liquid of life.
I drew upon the dreary blight
That consists of this endless strife.
For one to lose one must gain,
For I have lost what can’t be found
Just one more person to be slain
Just one more brother to be bound
My hands are marred by others
Scarred by the actions of me
Killed by my loving brothers
Stop the Killing, I beg, I plea
The rose sheds its final petal
On what once was living
In the dirt to now settle
Now to be a new being
I will always remember thee
For the body on the ground
You see is me
Dead, waiting to be found"
