"I saw your name etched into the stone at the Fallen Warriors Memorial. We share the same last name, although I doubt there is any relation. I laid red roses on the step below your name. I want to say thank you. I will remember you."

"I knew Dominic. He and I reported to 1-187 together in 2003. I will always remember standing in front of the Sergeant Major with him for the first time. I will never forget the friends that I served with, especially those who were taken from us. I am truly sorry."
Jon of Iraq

"Although I did not know Dominic Hinton personally, we are remembering him today, on Memorial day 2010 in prayer and in celebration. For his life and the sacrifices he made so that we could live in freedom. May our lives be worthy of the price all our veterans pay each and every day. God Bless America!"
Stephanie Statuto of Orlando, Florida

"Even though I did not know Dominic Hinton in this life, I can't help but think of him every Memorial day. I posted a note years ago after randomly picking Dominic's memorial flag for my son at my church Memorial day service. I just felt like sharing with those who did know and love him and still feel the pain of his loss that he is not forgotten. I am so deeply grateful for all the soldiers who serve this country and for Dominic personally. I don't think it was an accident that I selected his name, the same name as my own son. I pray for all family members and friends who miss him. I have 2 kids who are about the same in age difference and they are so very close. Dominic Joseph is also the name of my son and I can't help but imagine how hard it would be to lose him. I am so thankful that this world is not our final resting place. Please know that your loved one is remembered and honored for his life and sacrifice. God Bless you and God Bless America!

my family continues to honor Dominic Hinton by name on Memorial day and although I don't have the original flag used that day at my church, I do have another one used and prayed over. Please let me know if anyone wants it. I will make sure to keep it in a safe place. Otherwiswe, I will continue to use it every year."
Stephanie Statuto of Orlando, Fl

"I LOVE DOMINIC! ALTHOUGH WE ARE COUSINS, WE GREW UP LIKE TWIN BROTHERS. WE ARE 6 WEEKS APART, AND THERE ISN'T A DAY THAT GOES BY THAT I DON'T MENTION HIS NAME. I MISS HIM VERY MUCH AND APPRECIATE WHAT HE AND MANY OTHER SERVICE MEN/WOMEN ARE DOING. I NEVER THOUGHT THAT OUR LIFES WOULD EVER PART. TO BE HONEST I STILL CAN'T REALLY DEAL WITH THIS, BUT I CAN SAY I HAVE LEARNED A LOT. THANKS DOM. I LOVE YOU.

YOUR BROTHER FOR EVER! BIG NIGE!"
NIGEL HINTON of FAIRFIELD/VACAVILLE CALIFORNIA

"My church honored all fallen servicemembers of this current war by placing thousands of American flags with a soldiers name on it on the lawn with a sign above reading "never forget". I picked up a flag for my son and happened to select the flag for one Dominic Joseph Hinton. I was truly struck by the coincidence of this selection because my son's name is Dominic Joseph Statuto. I was able to teach my son about the sacrifices soldiers make for the rest of us Americans. For those who knew and loved Dominic personally, please know that you are prayed for and we are so truly grateful for his & your sacrifice. It is the lives of people like Dominic that make living worth while. I pray to meet him in heaven some day and to meet you as well. Thank you again. If anyone close to Dominic would like the flag mailed to them...please contact me at sastatuto@msn.com. -Stephanie"

"First, I would like to send my condolences on your lose. I am truly sorry and hope your God holds him in His hands. I am writing to tell you that I, as many other bikers, went to the Freedom Run last year, in Illinois. We were all given dog tags to wear in honor of the service person who was lost. I was honored to receive the dog tags of one, Dominic J. Hinton. As honored as I am to possess them, I was wondering, as I think of him, as I often do, if you would like them. I am in Chicago, my e-mail address is gmabetts-3@comcast.net. You can reach me there, Thank you and God bless you."

"To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love,
you can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
but now it's time I traveled on alone.

So grieve a while for me if you must,
then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part,
so keep the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on.

So if you need me, call, and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near.
And if you listen with your heart,
you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way,
I'll greet you with a smile, and say,
"WELCOME HOME.
