Army Capt. Christopher P. Petty

33, of Vienna, Virginia.
Petty died in An Najaf, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during convoy operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on January 5, 2006.

I am glad to have known Cpt Petty, and to this day, January 5 2006 still brings back pain which I know will never be forgotten.
