"what's up Albert? I bet you are cracking them with your subtle wit up there. Unfortunately you have far too many bothers in arms to keep you company. I never say goodbye but "See you later because we will". God Bless and Relax In Peace Bro"

"To the children of Lt. Col. Albert Smart: I was friends with your father in elementary school. It was a tough time for me, I remember very few friends but I always remember Albert. I was a new kid. Three other kids were trying to pick a fight and Albert stepped along side me. The other kids walked away. I never saw him after my family moved but I never forgot that act of kindness. It is only fitting he joined the Army, seeking to defend others. I retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and was an advanced network analyst. Its funny to me that we both ended up in the same line of work and in the Military. I just thought I would share this memory. I always told my girls that they served there country as well for sacrificing while I was away. Thank you and your family for your sacrifice as well. May God Bless and Keep You."

He was a giving man, never expecting more than a thank you in return...and, till the very end, he gave his all. To my brother in arms, I miss you very much. I keep Mr. and Mrs. Smart in prayer, my second parents. Thank you for being part of my life. We love you Albert! I have known no other man with a heart bigger than yours, I know you're in heaven."

"Albert Smart was an outstanding Soldier who lived the Army values. I had the honor of serving with him during his first tour during OEF and again when we were team chiefs during a deployment training. Albert took care of his people and was completely mission focused. He was the type of person that you knew would take care of people and the mission. He was a leader. I am proud to have served with him- God bless his family."
