"FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO EXPRESS MY CONDOLENCES TO ALL OF BERRY'S FAMILY MEMBERS. AS HARD AS IT IS FOR THE REST OF US I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT YOU ALL ARE GOING THROUGH. BERRY WAS A HAPPY AND JOYFUL PERSON WHO ALWAYS SAW THE GOOD IN PEOPLE. HE HAD THE GIFT TO LIGHTEN UP THE ROOM WHEN HE SMILED AND MAKE IT SEEM LIKE EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK EVEN IF YOU THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T BE.... I KNOW NONE OF YOU KNOW ME BUT I KNEW A LOT ABOUT YOU BECAUSE BERRY WOULD ALWAYS TALK ABOUT HIS FAMILY AND SHOW ME PICTURES OF ALL OF YOU. I ALWAYS WANTED TO MEET YOU ALL BUT I GUESS GOD HAD OTHER PLANS FOR THE BOTH OF US. SO I'M SENDING MY BEST WISHES, ESPECIALLY TO THE BOYS.

BERRY, WHEN SMITH TOLD ME ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED I FELT LIKE SOMETHING INSIDE OF ME WAS JUST TEARING APART. EVEN THOUGH WE HADN'T TALKED IN A WHILE I STILL FEEL LIKE WE WERE ALWAYS CONNECTED SOMEHOW. I MEAN WE DID SPEND TWO UNFORGETABLE, GOOD, FUNNY AND CRAZY YEARS TOGETHER. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU, BABY. U WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART AND MIND. I STILL THINK ABOUT ALL THE GOOD TIMES WE SHARED LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY WHEN YOU, SMITH, SABRINA AND ME WOULD HANG OUT AND ACT FOOLS, LAUGHING THE NIGHT AWAY. REMEMBER HOW SABRINA WOULD ALWAYS COME CRYING TO YOU FOR ADVISE AS FAR AS WHAT TO DO ABOUT HER AND SMITH? LOL....
OR DO YOU REMEMBER NEW YEARS OF 2000/2001 WHEN WE WENT TO K-TOWN WITH MY PARENTS TO CELEBRATE WITH MY UNCLE AND AUNT... REMEMBER HOW MY UNCLE LIT A FIRE KRACKER, I FELL ON IT AND BURNED MY JEANS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO MY LEG? LOL... I STILL GOT THE SCAR FROM IT!
DAMN BABY I MISS YOU SO MUCH AND I OFTEN ASK MYSELF IF YOU ARE STILL THINKING ABOUT ME AND MAYBE EVEN LOOKING DOWN ON US. I SURE HOPE YOU HAVE JUST AS MANY GOOD MEMORIES OF ME AS I HAVE OF YOU!!! AND I KNOW THAT ONE DAY WE WILL MEET AGAIN. SO UNTIL THEN TAKE CARE AND KNOW THAT I STILL AND ALWAYS WILL LOVE YOU LIKE I DID THEN!
MISS YOU WITH ALL OF MY HEART!
LOVE
TAE"

"I was a personal friend of Berry's. We went to highschool together, and had many good times. My condolences to his family and friends that lost an incredible person, father, and soldier. I still remember it like yesterday, at Walter Hall park, Berry's 16 or 17 birthday party. When he was getting his bday beating, he broke his collar bone, while wrestling with his sisters boyfriend or something like that. We were some damn fools back then. Good times old friend. You will not be forgotten..."

Your memories of us just hanging will never be forgotten. From us kicking it in AIT, with the entire crew getting on orders to Germany, later even joining again to being together in the mighty,"DUECES WILD" EAGLE EXPRESS,68TH TRANS. You will never be forgotten, I want your kids to know that you were a true warrior and loved all the people around you, but most of all loved them and always bragging about your little knuckleheads. "SGT Meza, You will be missed dearly by all of us. I was in 2nd Platoon "Deuces Wild" with Meza in 2001-2004 and I knew him as a personal friend. Meza was always able to make the people around him laugh and smile. His character was strong and his sense of humor contagious. From your home in Houston, through the hills in Germany, past the desert sands, now in the hands of your father, your memory will last forever. I know that your are at peace with your dad and your lord by your side. Watch over us from the heavens.

"To the family and friends of Meza. I first met Meza through my bestfriend, Latanya Shockley. All the times that we spent with Meza, in Germany will never be forgotten. He always made us laugh, reguardless of the situation. Meza has touched so many lives. "B" was always smiling and happy, especially when he talked about his boys. "My boys this, and my boys that", is all you heard. He couldn't wait to see his baby boy Julian Shockley-Meza, who is his little "mini me". Meza had a kind heart and a happy spirit. "B" you will never be forgotten. Your gracious spirit will shine forever in your boys. All my love!"
