"I just found a page dedicated to Steven, and it brought tears to my eyes. It always hits home with me, knowing that as a fellow service member, we have lost a brother. Marinegirl85's video on youtube has all of the pictures of Steven as a young baby boy, and it reminded me so much of my children. It hit deep and hard, and I am sorry for your loss, But thank GOD for the lives of great men like LCpl Steven L. Phillips! You will live forever in our hearts and memory Devil Dog!"

"i love you, buddy, and miss you so much man, every time i hear the beach boys i think about you, weird, i know but hey you always said i was weird, haha. Out of all the a*holes we served with man, you were the least deserving of this. I don't think I'll ever get over this, I still think about this all the time. About how you should have your pilots license by now, and all the stuff we talked about, I wish I could call you right now and exchange our post marine corps stories with each other and laugh about old times. I miss you so much, my friend, and I will always, I love you,
Mikey"
