"To The Terrazas Family, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences as we pass the 16th anniversary of your Marine's death. He will not be forgotten. If there is any possible consolation, please know that he did not die in vain. Following that horrific day, many more reports came in of IED locations, weapons storage areas, personnel reporting where explosives were hidden (even one saving my life and those around me on New Year's Day), etc. I truly believe Miguel's passing saved the lives of many Marines in Hadithah. Semper Fi to all of you and to LCpl Terrazas!"

""Maybe I'm a little late bc of my own selfish tendencies. Maybe I'm guilty of moving into civilian life and trying to "forget" rough times but I've come to the revelation that it is IMPOSSIBLE to forget anything from the Corps. I had the honor to serve with Too many great men and TJ was unfortunately one of many that gave it all for me and mine and you and yours. I'm in pain as I write this for many reasons, I guess. But we WILL not forget but instead be the creators we were meant to be bc of men that sacrificed some and all. I just have a Purple Heart but I'd trade that and anything for the preservation of life. Till we regroup kids!! Much love and respect and let's live forever and ever -Semper- Neda"

"I am forever honored to have even been in the presence of Miguel Terrazas, or TJ as all of us in the platoon called him. He was my friend, fellow Marine, but more importantly, he was my brother. TJ had a heart of gold with a great personality to match. TJ had no enemies, because there was no way that you could not like him. Terrazas still lives on through his family, friends, and the extended family he found in his fellow Marines. His name is also forever engraved on my right arm with the phrase, rest in peace. It has been very difficult to accept and understand TJ's death. He could make anyone laugh and raise their spirits in any situation. Often times remembering TJ breaks me down emotionally, but there are times that he can still manage to make me laugh. People like TJ come by once in a lifetime, and I am thankful that I did not miss knowing him. Miguel Terrazas will be forever missed, but will never be forgotten. I love you TJ. Someday our band of brothers will ride again."
James Prentice of Long Beach, CA

"I met a man with a story, whom I believe was a friend of Miguel Terrazas haunted by the events that culminated at Haditha. I will and have forever mourned this man ever since. That his death was overshadowed is bothersome to my soul. That his comrade was left so bothered still leaves me angry. That we can't judge other human beings will forever more be perfectly clear to me. It was six years ago I met 'Dustin' and we last contact. I hope he is well. My daughter who was 12 at the time summed him up. "He was just a young guy, but he looked so old". Thank You for your sacrifice, Miguel Terrazas, but I believe your unit should have come home after Fallujah."

"To the family of Miguel Terrazas. My name is Lcpl Donald Vanderlip II.I served with Miguel during OIF II.All i can say is i loved "TJ" like a brother i wear his name on my arm.He always had a way of bringing you up and pushing you forward during the toughest times. He was always the life of the party.I know i speak for everyone in 3rd plt when i say this there isnt any man that id rather stand beside me in any situation. He always made the best of even the worst situations.I only wish i would have written this letter earlier. There were things i needed to overcome first.I now feel like i can deal with the loss of one of the best friends ive ever had.I can only imagine the way you feel for i feel like a piece of me is missing. If there is anything you need feel free to to message me anytime.

"Dear family of T.J. Terrazas, my name is Molly Kenny and I lost my brother LCPL Patrick B. Kenny on Oct. 6, 2005, one month before TJ in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq. My brother also died because of an IED and he also was the humvee driver at the time of his death, and also only 20 like TJ.I read an article in Time magazine about TJ's death and the controversy that is following. It made me sick to my stomach b/c what are they doing to the innocent AMERICAN civilians who were killed in 9/11 that started all of this, but they are worried over Marines who killed Iraqis who didn't listen, I just don't get it.I am so sorry for what has happened to your family. I truly understand how heartwrenching this is. Please email me: momak23@yahoo.com if anyone would like to talk, especially if TJ has any siblings, I would love to hear how they are doing, b/c my days are filled with constant thoughts of my brother. My heart just truly 100% aches for you. I hope you are all doing well, God Bless."

"We go through life so often,
Not stopping to enjoy the day.
And we take each one for granted,
As we travel on our way.

For in your pain and sorrow,
An Angelís Kiss will help you through,
This kiss is very private,
For it is meant for only you.

We never stop to measure,
Anything we just might miss.
But if the wind should blow by softly,
Youíll feel and Angel Kiss.

A kiss that is sent from heaven,
A kiss from up above.
A kiss that is very special,
From someone that you love.

So when, your hearts are heavy,
And filled with tears and pain.
And no one can console you,
Remember once again.

About the one you grieve for,
Because you sadly miss.
And the gentle breeze you took for granted,
Was just an Angelís Kiss.

Gone Ė but not forgotten.
Thank you for sharing your marine with us,
and for the sacrifice made by you and your family on our behalf.
