"I served with CPT Allton. He and I shared a cot next to each other, in a tent when we first got to Ramadi. CPT Parrot (chaplain) was his best friend. I spend most every day when we first got to Iraq. He talked of his baby and how he couldn't wait to get home. I miss him so much, and I have quite a story about him. He was my best friend. I remember the day we lost him as though it were yesterday. Everything about it still follows me."

"I served with Eric in the 66th MI Bde over ten years ago. I was saddened to hear of his death, to say the least. He was a "gung-ho" guy and his career reflects that. I will never forget him or his sacrifice and my thoughts go out to his family and fellow soldiers."

"I was stationed with CPT Allton in Ramadi with 2/17fa. Cpt Allton was a quiet man that believed in God and was always avaliable to give direction to anyone needing it. I can remember seeing him sit in the quad and read magazines when he was off night shift. My condolences go out to the family"

"I don’t believe that we understand all that you gave, or how your sacrifice will affect the future for our sons or daughters. I believe you confronted the evil that has enslaved mankind throughout history, the same evil that many American soldiers have confronted in many battles.

I will teach my son and daughter of your sacrifice and your heroism.
