"Eric, I miss you so much. This is always hard time of year for me. I grew up with Eric. I served in Iraq with Eric, I was the door gunner on the aircraft that flew in the investigation team. I didn't know it was for you that day. I found out from Janelle in an email a few weeks later. I put the pieces together and realized that we were there for you. I think about that day often. I saw where your vehicle was swept away. I saw where your vehicle was found. You are missed Devil Dog. I have so many good memories of times spent with you. If I could traded places with you, I would."

"To the Family of LCpl. Eric Palmisano:
We have constructed a memorial to the service men and women from Wisconsin and Illinois who have died in Iraq. Our memorial includes, as of 8/28/06, 162 crosses and Stars of David. We would like your permission to put Eric's name on one of them. We have called our display "Arlington MidWest." It is our expression of mourning for the indescribable loss you have suffered for our country.

If you would like us to do this, please email me at arlingtonmidwest@yahoo.com.

We invite you to come to visit Arlington MidWest if you can. A friend has put us up on his website so you can see the memorial here:

"As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.""

"I was with Lance Cpl. Eric A. Palmisano on April 2, 2006. I am a convoy truck driver with KBR, serving the Marine Expedition Forces in Al Asad, Iraq. Eric was the gunner on the pack truck in front of me that day, his job to protect both military and civilian drivers and equiptment. Not a day goes by that I and the fellow drivers in our division don't think about that day and his seven fellow service members who were with him. Eric, we miss you."
