"Mike,

Thinking about you today buddy. Haven't seen your son or parents since the funeral. I hope your boy is doing well, growing up strong. I hope your father and mother are still trucking along. Thank you for serving your country when all knew that the path would not be easy. You answered the call and it is people like you who have allowed all of us to hold onto the freedoms that we have. Praying for your family today. May God bring them peace, and health, and good things now and always. Rest easy, Mike. You are missed."

"A life time will not be long enough for us to forget...

At the rising of the sun and at its going down, We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of Winter, We remember them.
At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of Spring, We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of Summer, We remember them.
At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of Autumn, We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends, We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.

"I knew that Weger was different from the first time that we met. He was constantly asking what he could do next. He was determined to be the best soldier possible because he joined to fight and that was his sole purpose in the Army. And let me tell you, the rank on his collar might have said Specialist but he never knew that. His ideas and motivation seemed way too big for just being a lower enlisted soldier. Mr and Mrs Weger I am very glad that I was able to have the pleasure of meeting you. I just want you to know that your son was the real deal, a true hero. As for you Michael I think about you all the time and Lacey and I will never forget you brother."

"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Weger,
When we heard of this site, it was very comforting knowing how many people care about our soldiers. After seeing you on television tonight, we wanted to express our deepest sympathy to you and your extended family in the loss of your fine son, Michael, a very courageous soldier, a true American Hero. We too lost our son in Baghdad last December by an IED and know of your pain. For some reason we picked up a book at the book store called "Trusting God through Tears" and it brought us some comfort and we wanted to share that with you. Someone also sent us a card that also gave us comfort, it said something like the stars in the sky are openings in heaven where our loved ones can look down upon us, letting us know they are happy. We look up to the heavens and know our sons are at peace. Even though we miss our son very much as we know you do too, we are sure there are many others that Michael's life has touched that also feel a terrible loss. Please pass our sympathy to those special people as well. We know you will cherish your memories and know that Michael must have touched so many people in a positive way as exemplified by his willingness to serve our Country in our fight against terrorism. We will pray for you to receive comfort from your faith, your friends, your family and from all Americans who will honor your son, Michael, with their cards, notes and prayers."
The Moores of Livingston, TX
