"Larry, I miss you so much. We didn't visit like we should have and I am so sorry. I so wish I could see you and say I love you. I sometimes wonder what and why God took you, but I do know that you died doing a job to protect me and my children and my grandchildren. Larry I am so proud to be your sister. Thank you for you! Rita"

"Larry ~     Your one and only son came to see you today.  We always called him Little Larry, and I still do to this day.  This morning when he woke me up, he said "I'm going to see my dad".  He misses and loves you.  It hasn't been easy for either of us, especially Little Larry.  Sometimes life hands us things we can't even imagine.  Life will go on and memories will stay in our hearts.  I often think of things we did, places we went, and people we knew.  I found SFC Bell and family on line.  They were shocked to here of your death, SFC Bell didn't even want to believe it was you. We look forward to seeing you in our dreams. Tuula"

"My name is Barb Shillinger and I send my most sincere condolences on the loss of Lawrence. I know what you are going through and I will keep you in my prayers. I am the WA state coordinator for the Home of the Brave Quilt Project. We are volunteers making a Civil War reproduction quilt for the family of each of our Fallen from WA. It will have an embroidered label with Lawrence's name. We ask nothing of the families except an address to which we can mail the quilt when it is finished, either to the wife or parents. Please contact me at barbnlamont@comcast.net
And, again, I am so sorry for your great loss and I thank Lawrence for being willing to put himself in harm's way for our country. Barb"

"To The Family of Larry Morrison: I wanted to leave a message and tell you how proud the people of Larry's hometown are of him and the tremendous sacrifice he (and you) made for our great country. I never knew Larry very well as he was a bit older than I in our school days, but I know what a truly loving family he came from and can only imagine the pain felt by this loss. I do remember what an infectious smile Larry always had on his face! Although he has been gone from this area for many years, we still consider Larry a "Hometown Hero", and we are all very privileged to have known such a courageous and honorable soldier. My thoughts and prayers are with you."
Becky T. Rose of Frenchburg, KY/USA

"Larry, you will never be forgotten. I will remember your wonderful big smile and your love. My heart still achs so, please tell mom and Jim hi for me, love, rita"

"Words do not adequately convey the thoughts and prayers we have for Sgt. Morrison's family. Please know that you are in our prayers as the memories you have of Lawrence surround you during the days ahead. May this sacrifical gift of the life of Sgt. Morrison draw you closer to the Lord."
Malcolm Arnett of Yakima, Washington

"My prayers are with all of the Morrison family. I remember Larry from our school bus days - he was in grade school while I was still in high school. I always thought he was so sweet. He was a good kid, too - quiet and shy. He was the kind of kid that you know will become a good man. And apparently he did. Larry gave the ultimate sacrifice. He gave his life for his country. This war has touched so many lives in so many ways. Most of us, have someone, or knows someone who is "over there." Our soldiers have not been made to join the military - they have chosen to be in the military. That, in itself, makes our soldiers heroes. Larry truly was a hero. He will not be forgotten."
Theresa Slone of Wellington, Kentucky USA

"We Will NEVER FORGET !"
Please KNOW so many people share your sadness,
and we are remembering your family in your loss and your deep grief.
Our nations HERO, Lawrence will be remembered by name.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
God Bless you ALWAYS.

"Larry,
No amount of words can comfort the hurt that accompanies the death of a loved one. I cannot even begin to imagine how you must feel, and at what sheer magnitude the tidal wave of emotion rips though your heart and mind at this solemn time. I long to speak words of comfort to you but have none to offer. None that will remove the sting of loss and the hurt that comes from separation. However, I will offer a few words of inspiration, that after the hurt has faded some, may help you to pick up and carry on, honorably, the way you dad would have wanted.
There truly are a few noble callings in life. Those callings are the ones that require that people give of themselves in order to help others. People who serve in those roles are the unsung hero’s of life. Policemen, firefighters, military soldiers, ministers, doctors, ect… These people understand that life is about more that personal wellbeing, and the attainment of some measure of power or success. True heroes understand that people are what matter the most. These select individuals understand that the material things of this world are but for a time, and then pass away, but if you can touch someone’s life, then you can make an impression that will last forever. I believe your dad understood this to be true. Larry was the example of an American Hero. He did more than was expected of him and needed no praise or recognition. If only we all were as caring and unselfish as he, then the war that took him from us would never have been fought.
Time and distance did not allow us to be very close to your dad, but we always had him in our hearts, and in our prayers. When we spoke of him we held our head’s high with pride, and that will not change henceforth. We will always remember the love that was in his heart, for his family and his country. Remember the words of our savior in the Gospel of John 15:13. Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” Your dad, and love that he had was an example for all of us and we will miss him. The Cost of Freedom is something that different people put different values on. Some think that this war wasn’t worth fighting. To them I say this, never let it be said that the Cost of Freedom wasn’t worth it. Truly we have paid that price with our most precious blood. Something that comes at so high a cost must be cherished and preserved. Your dad believed that, and we believe that.
The Apostle Paul said, “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” These words from 2 Timothy 4:6-7 are the words of a man who was close to death, but was not afraid because he knew that he had done his part in this world. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he kept the faith. I have to think that this is the way your dad must have lived his life. Going right to the end, not in fear, but in pride and honor. Because to serve his country was the noble calling of his life, and a task that could not be shirked. He made us all proud to part Morrison, and to have his blood running in our veins is something we can be proud of. It’s something you can be proud of too.
Now our hearts, minds and prayers turn to you and your family. Rest your head at night knowing that we loved your dad and we love you. We are praying for you. We pray that the God of Heaven be with you, that he keep you safe in all your travels, that he prosper you in every task you set your hands to, and that he minister peace and happiness in your heart. If you ever need anything that we can help you with, or if you just want to talk with family, then feel free to call on any of us.

On behalf of all your cousins,
We love you."
