May we honor the lives of those who have fought for our freedom with the way we choose to live our own, I was chosen because of a very close friend who served with the 48 Marines and Corpsmen who sacrificed it all; to read each story, to get to know a small piece of their lives through families and friends. I chose to honor each of them with a bible verse:

Lance T. Graham 5/7/05
"My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth. So do this, my son, to free yourself, since you have fallen into your neighbor's hands: Go-to the point of exhaustion-and give your neighbor no rest! Allow no sleep to your eyes, no slumber to your eyelids. Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler." - Proverbs 6:1-5 (Generosity)"
Haleigh Kilgore of West Virginia

"I think of Lance often and our entire family miss him. We have a picture on our refrigerator where he is dressed as Santa Claus at a fire department Christmas party. My daughters truly loved and still love him. I can still see them hanging from his arms as if he were a jungle gym. Love you Lance. You will never be forgotten."
Selma Fire Chief Scott Lee, retired of Schertz, Texas

"Memorial Day 2010. Thinking about Lance today. I went through the Fire Academy with him, class 98B, and fought fire with him while he was with Selma. To all of us he was known simply as "Cornfed". Miss ya man."

"Dear Graham Family, Lance will not be forgotten. You are in our prayers. In Christ,"
Pam Danny Reid of Saginaw, Tx.

I miss you. We played softball together for a few years of Sundays before you went off to war. I still wish you hadn't gone, but I know that to be selfish. You were buried the day my daughter was born. I still wear your "Die Strong" wristband on my daughters birthday. You were so young. We miss you playing at 1st base. You were so big when you went into your stretch you could tag them out at 2nd while still getting the force at 1st. I hope you have found peace. God bless you and your family."
Daniel "Hippie" Sandbach of San Antonio, TX

"I and three other Marines carried Lance from his place of death to the back of an amtrac four years ago today. He will always be remembered for the good days and the bad. Die Strong was his moto and I hope to live up to his example."
Jason of Ohio

I have a surplus of frequent flier miles and would like to make that happen for one of his siblings. Please contact me canaan@aol.com. Best, Canaan."

So when a great man dies, For years beyond our ken. The light he leaves behind him lies Upon the paths of men.

"I worked with Lance long ago at the Rolling Oaks Movie Theater. I was one of his supervisors. He was a handful and pushed my limits at times (to say the least). I just recently learned of his service and death. I am proud to say that I knew him, and his service and courage do not surprise me. He lived his life in a big and exciting way and I am thankful that he was willing to fight for me and my family. I am sorry for you loss.
