"To the family of Michael,
My love and prayers are with you. I moved down to oceanside recently and every time I drive on base because my boyfriend is stationed there my thoughts always wonder to all the great time Michael brought in my life and my family as well. I am one of Dot & Army Materns grand-daughter. Michael use to always come over to hang with me and my sisters on the weekends up in orange county. I loved his charm and humor. I always knew I was going to have a smile on my face when he would visit. Im so blessed to have had all the time I did with him. He has left unforgettable memories. I am so proud to have known him."
Deandra Jex of Oceanside,Ca

"I never had the honor of meeting Mike. I have had the honor of knowing his mother and father and brother Brad along with other members of his family. The family are beyond a doubt the most wonderful people I have ever met. Brett Allred is mikes father, he and the family wanted to do something for mike and the "Ride for the fallen" was started three years ago. I just came back from the ride today. The emotion was overwhelming at times. To see people of all walks of life, different faiths and different ideology coming together for this great cause of remembering Mike and the 5000 other fallen soldiers who gave all brought tears to my eyes. I believe Mike was put on God's earth for a reason. He fought for our freedom and also brought a community together. I love the Allred family and Mike will always be in my thoughts, prayers and heart. Semper Fi Mike. One day I will get the honor of meeting you."

"A few weeks ago a Vet. was sitting outside a local store selling Hero bracelets to raise money. I bought one and when asked if I wanted any special engraving I requested the words "I wont forget" to be stamped on there. I want you to know that I will stand by that promise. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers, and Michael will forever be in my heart."

"Hello Allred Family, my name is Melissa Turner. That name may not seem familiar to you, so let me explain. I am also related to the famous Thacker Family. Christine Thacker Tate is my mother, & Kenn & Lois Thacker are my grandparents. My children were given an assignment at school to bring a picture of someone they consider a hero, for patriotic week. I told them all about Mike, how funny he was,and all the fun times we had at the "party pasture". I also told them how wonderfully patriotic he was, & that he loved serving his country & in turn sacrificed his life doing so. I am so proud to be related to a man & a family that have sacrificed so much. His picture will be hanging up at Harvest Elementary for everyone to see. My Love and prayers will always be with you..."

"Cpl. Allred and i served together at 3/1 india. Allred lived in the room next to mine so we talked alot. He was a great Marine. He was the first of us junior marines to get promoted to corporal. Being a good Marine is one thing but Allred was seriously one of the best human beings ive ever met. I don't know how to say it but he was just so "good". He always did the right thing, he would gladly help anyone who needed it, he was honest, he drove me out to buy my first car. Anyone who knew him will tell you he was a great guy, one of the best."
Cpl. Duran of houston, Tx.

"This is just a note of thanks. Michael was my brother. I know he died doing what he knew was right. Michael believed that we should be in Iraq. He felt that we were making a difference. He is dearly missed. However, we as a family are grateful that he and so many others have been willing to sacrifice their all so that we may enjoy freedom. Truly freedom isn't free and I am grateful to my brother and others who have paid that price for me and my family. Semper Fi Mike."

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. JOHN 15:13

Although I did not know Michael, I have grieved with you. The only thing that I could think about on election day is that we remain the proud and the free because of Michael and many people like him who stood bravely in harm's way, and do so today.

"Mike, you know I could always count on you to get things done right. You'll never know just how much it meant to me to have you in my squad. You were a born leader and true Marine in every way. You would sometimes look to me for some guidance, but now it's I who asks for your guidance in my life. I feel fortunate to have known you in this world and I can't wait to see you again when it's my turn to be with God. Just know that I will never forget. I'm just happy that everyone on that truck that morning was happy and upbeat. I know you all died with a smile on your face. I live my life in your guys' memory now. God chose to have me remain behind that day. I will take this opportunity to live in all of your memories this I swear."

"Lance Corporal Allred was one of my Marines when he first arrived in the Operating Forces of the Marine Corps. As a young Marine assigned to 2nd Platoon, India Company, 3D Battaloin, 1ST Marines, Mike showed every aspect of what a young Marine is supposed to be: strong, smart, and disciplined. He quickly gained the confidence of his peers and superiors, and was truly one of the best young Marines of India Company. My condolences to his family.

Never shall I forget, never shall I fail my Marines."
