Marine Gunnery Sgt. Stephen L. Bryson, 35, of Montgomery, Alabama.

Bryson died as a result of the crash of a KC-130/R aircraft in Pakistan. He was assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 352 (VMGR-352), the "Raiders," Combined Task Force 58, Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, California. Died on January 9, 2002.

Army Master Sgt. Herbert R. Claunch, 58, of Wetumpka, Alabama.

Claunch died in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after collapsing on the floor in his quarters. He was assigned to the Army National Guard, 217th Military Police Company, Prattville, Alabama. Died on April 18, 2004.

Army Sgt. Jeremy D. Foshee, 25, of Pisgah, Alabama.

Foshee was on board the MH-47 aircraft that crashed at sea in the southern Philippines. He was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on February 21, 2002.

Army CW3 Mark S. O'Steen, 43, of Alabama.

Died in Afghanistan. Died on January 30, 2003.

CIA Johnny Michael Spann, 32, of Winfield, Alabama.

Spann was killed during a deadly four-day prison riot near Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan. Died on November 25, 2001.

Arizona

Army Staff Sgt. Brian S. Hobbs, 28, of Mesa, Arizona.

Hobbs died in Miam Do, Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on October 14, 2004.

Marine Lance Cpl. Kevin B. Joyce, 19, of Ganado, Arizona.

Joyce died after falling into the Pech River while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Died on June 25, 2005.

Army Spc. Scott J. Mullen, 22, of Tucson, Arizona.

Mullen died in Makati City, The Republic of the Philippines, of injuries sustained there from a non-combat related accident on October 13, 2005. He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 4th Psychological Operations Group, U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on October 14, 2005.

Army Sgt. Kenneth G. Ross, 24, of Peoria, Arizona.

Ross died southwest of Deh Chopan, Afghanistan, when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to the Army's 7th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, Giebelstadt, Germany. Died on September 25, 2005.

Army Spc. Patrick D. Tillman, 27, of Chandler, Arizona.

Tillman died in Afghanistan when his patrol vehicle came under attack. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on April 22, 2004.

Arkansas

Air Force Airman 1st Class Jesse M. Samek, 21, of Rogers, Arkansas.

Samek died from injuries he received when an Air Force HH-60 helicopter aircraft crashed during a medical evacuation mission in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 66th Rescue Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. Died on October 21, 2004.

Marine Lance Cpl. Steven A. Valdez, 20, of McRea, Arkansas.

Valdez died from enemy mortar fire at Camp Blessing, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Died on September 26, 2005.

California

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew G. Axelson, 29, of Cupertino, California.

Axelson died while conducting counter-terrorism operations in Kunar province, Afghanistan. Coalition forces located Axelson while conducting a combat search and rescue operation July 10, 2005 in Kunar province. He was assigned to SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team ONE, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Declared deceased on July 10, 2005.

Marine Capt. Matthew W. Bancroft, 29, of Shasta, California.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Victor H. Cervantes, 27, of Stockton, California.

Cervantes died in Orgun-e, Afghanistan, when he came under small arms fire while on patrol. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on June 10, 2005.

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Sean M. Corlew, 37, of Thousand Oaks, California.

Corlew died in the crash of a U.S. Air Force MC-130H Combat Talon II aircraft in the Paktika province of Afghanistan. He was assigned to the Air Force's 16th Special Operations Wing, Hurlburt Field, Florida. Died on June 12, 2002.

Army Pfc. Joseph Cruz, 22, of Whittier, California.

Cruz died in Bagram, Afghanistan of non-combat related injuries sustained in an accident at Organ-E, Afghanistan, on October 15, 2005. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Vicenza, Italy. Died on October 16, 2005.

Air Force Senior Airman Jason D. Cunningham, 26, of Camarillo, California.

Killed in action in eastern Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. Died on March 4, 2002.

Air Force Maj. Duane W. Dively, 43, of Rancho California, California.

Dively died in Southwest Asia, in the crash of a U-2 aircraft. Dively had completed flying a mission and was returning to his base when the crash occurred. He was assigned to the 1st Reconnaissance Squadron, Beale Air Force Base, California. Died on June 22, 2005.

Army Master Sgt. Emigdio E. Elizarraras, 37, of Pico Rivera, California.

Elizarraras died in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during a reconnaissance mission. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on February 28, 2006.

Army Cpl. Dale E. Fracker, Jr., 23, of Apple Valley, California.

Fracker died on in Deh Rawod, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on November 24, 2004.

Army Sgt. Gregory M. Frampton, 37, of California.

Died in Afghanistan. Died on January 30, 2003.

Army Cpl. Billy Gomez, 25, of Perris, California.

Gomez died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, from injuries sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device on October 20, 2004 in Naka, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on October 27, 2004.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Chad A. Gonsalves, 31, of Turlock, California.

Gonsalves died north of Deh Rawod, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on February 13, 2006.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Allen C. Johnson, 31, of Los Molinos, California.

Johnson died in Khanaqin, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when enemy forces using small arms fire attacked his patrol. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on April 26, 2005.

Army Spc. Adam G. Kinser, 21, of Sacramento, California.

Kinser died west of Ghazni, Afghanistan, when a weapons cache prematurely exploded. He was assigned to the 304th Psychological Operations Company, U.S. Army Reserve, based in Sacramento, California. Died on January 29, 2004.

Navy Lt. Cmdr. Erik S. Kristensen, 33, of San Diego, California.

Kristensen died while conducting combat operations when the MH-47 helicopter that he was aboard crashed in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan in Kumar Province. He was assigned to SEAL Team Ten, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Died on June 28, 2005.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Mitchell A. Lane, 34, of Lompoc, California.

Lane fell approximately 25 feet when he was conducting a fast rope infiltration into a known enemy cave complex in Afghanistan. Lane was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 29, 2003.

Marine Staff Sgt. Dwight J. Morgan, 24, of Mendocino, California.

Morgan died when a Marine CH-53E crashed in a remote region 60 kilometers south of Bagram in Northern Afghanistan. He was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 (HMH-361), the "Flying Tigers" of Marine Aircraft Group 16, Combined Task Force 58, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, California. Died on January 19, 2002.

Army Spc. Justin L. O'Donohoe, 27, of San Diego, California.

O'Donohoe died east of Abad, Afghanistan, in the Kunar province, when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed during combat operations. He was assigned to the 71st Cavalry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on May 5, 2006.

Army Pvt. Christopher L. Palmer, 22, of Sacramento, California.

Palmer died near Baylough, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during patrol operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy. Died on August 21, 2005.

Army Staff Sgt. Brian C. Prosser, 28, of Frazier Park, California.

Died in Afghanista. Died on December 5, 2001.

Navy Interior Communications Electrician First Class Petty Officer Thomas E. Retzer, 30, of San Diego, California.

Retzer died of wounds received in action in Afghanistan. Died on June 25, 2003.

Navy Aviation Boatswain's Mate-Handling Petty Officer 1st Class Neil C. Roberts, 32, of Woodland, California.

Killed in action in eastern Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. Died on March 4, 2002.

Army Cpl. Matthew P. Steyart, 21, of Mount Shasta, California.

Steyart died in Shah Wali Kot, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during patrol operations. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Vicenza, Italy. Died on November 22, 2005.

Colorado

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Danny P. Dietz, 25, of Littleton, Colorado.

Dietz died while conducting counter-terrorism operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Coalition forces located Dietz while conducting a combat search and rescue operation July 4, 2005 in Kunar Province; his whereabouts had been unknown since June 28, 2005. He was assigned to SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team Two, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Declared deceased on July 4, 2005.

Army Staff Sgt. Christopher M. Falkel, 22, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Falkel died in Deh Afghan, Afghanistan, where his unit was conducting combat operations and was engaged by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 8, 2005.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Daniel A. Romero, 30, of Colorado.

Romero died as the result of an explosion during explosive clearing operations in Qandahar, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 19th Special Forces Group, Pueblo, Colorado. Died on April 15, 2002.

Army Spc. Christopher F. Sitton, 21, of Montrose, Colorado.

Sitton died in Kunar, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle. Sitton was assigned to the 710th Combat Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on August 19, 2006.

Connecticut

Army Sgt. Maj. Phillip R. Albert, 41, of Terryville, Connecticut.

Albert was onboard an MH-53 helicopter conducting combat operations when it crashed in Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on November 23, 2003.

Army Sgt. Benjamin L. Gilman, 28, of Meriden, Connecticut.

Gilman died west of Ghazni, Afghanistan, when a weapons cache prematurely exploded. He was assigned to 41st Engineer Battalion, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on January 29, 2004.

Army Lt. Col. Michael J. McMahon, 41, of Connecticut.

McMahon died in Bamian, Afghanistan, when his contract aircraft crashed. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on November 27, 2004.

Army Maj. Stephen C. Reich, 34, of Washington Depot, Connecticut.

Reich died while conducting combat operations when the MH-47 helicopter that he was aboard crashed in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan in Kumar Province. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), Hunter Army Air Field, Georgia. Died on June 28, 2005.

Marine Lance Cpl. Russell P. White, 19, of Dagsboro, Delaware.

Army Spc. Marc A. Anderson, 30, of Brandon, Florida.

Killed in action in eastern Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. Died on March 4, 2002.

Navy SEAL CWO Matthew J. Bourgeois, 35, of Tallahassee, Florida.

Bourgeois was killed while conducting small unit training at a remote site near Qandahar, Afghanistan. Died on March 27, 2002.

Army Sgt. Bradley S. Crose, 22, of Orange Park, Florida.

Killed in action in eastern Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. Died on March 4, 2002.

Army Capt. Daniel W. Eggers, 28, of Cape Coral, Florida.

Eggers died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, when his vehicle hit a land mine. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on May 29, 2004.

Army Lt. Col. Joseph J. Fenty, 41, of Florida.

Fenty died east of Abad, Afghanistan, in the Kunar province, when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed during combat operations. He was assigned to the 71st Cavalry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on May 5, 2006.

Army Staff Sgt. Joseph F. Fuerst III, 26, of Tampa, Florida.

Fuerst died in Panjway District, Afghanistan, when his HMMWV came in contact with enemy forces using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire during combat operations. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 53rd Infantry Brigade, Pinellas Park, Florida. Died on June 24, 2006.

Army Sgt. Wakkuna A. Jackson, 21, of Jacksonville, Florida.

Wakkuna died in Kunar, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near her convoy vehicle. Jackson was assigned to the 710th Combat Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on August 19, 2006.

Army Sgt. Kip A. Jacoby, 21, of Pompano Beach, Florida.

Jacoby died while conducting combat operations when the MH-47 helicopter that he was aboard crashed in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan in Kumar Province. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), Hunter Army Air Field, Georgia. Died on June 28, 2005.

Air Force Master Sgt. Michael Maltz, 42, of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Maltz died in an HH-60 Pave Hawk accident in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. Died on March 23, 2003.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Curtis Mancini, 43, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Mancini died west of Ghazni, Afghanistan, when a weapons cache prematurely exploded. He was assigned to the 486th Civil Affairs Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, based in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Died on January 29, 2004.

Marine Cpl. Matthieu Marcellus, 31, of Gainesville, Florida.

Marcellus died when two CH-53 helicopters crashed into the Gulf of Aden in the vicinity of Ras Siyyan, northern Djibouti, while flying a training mission in the Godoria Range area. He was deployed to Djibouti as part of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. He was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464, Marine Air Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, II Marine Expeditionary Force, New River, North Carolina. Died on February 17, 2006.

Army CWO Timothy W. Moehling, 35, of Florida.

Moehling died in the weather-related crash of a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter in Kuwait. He was assigned to 5th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, Giebelstadt, Germany. Died on February 24, 2003.

Marine Cpl. Ronald R. Payne, Jr., 23, of Lakeland, Florida.

Payne died due to hostile action in the vicinity of Tawara, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on May 8, 2004.

Army Spc. Pedro Pena, 35, of Florida.

Pena died in Kuwait. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on November 7, 2002.

Army Staff Sgt. Michael W. Schafer, 25, of Spring Hill, Florida.

Schafer died in Oruzgan, Afghanistan, when he was shot by enemy forces while on a quick reaction force mission. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, Vicenza, Italy. Died on July 25, 2005.

Scherkenbach died while conducting combat operations when the MH-47 helicopter that he was aboard crashed in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan in Kumar Province. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), Hunter Army Air Field, Georgia. Died on June 28, 2005.

Marine Lance Cpl. Antonio J. Sledd, 20, of Hillsborough, Florida.

Sledd died in Kuwait from wounds received in action while participating in an urban exercise as part of Exercise Eager Mace. He was assigned to Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on October 8, 2002.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class James Suh, 28, of Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Suh died while conducting combat operations when the MH-47 helicopter that he was aboard crashed in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan in Kumar Province. He was assigned to SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Died on June 28, 2005.

Army Staff Sgt. Daniel A. Suplee, 39, of Ocala, Florida.

Suplee died at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa, Florida, of injuries sustained on April 1 in Kabul, Afghanistan, when his HMMWV was involved in a traffic accident. Suplee was assigned to the National Guard 153rd Cavalry Squadron, Ocala, Florida. Died on August 3, 2006.

Army Pfc. Brandon J. Wadman, 19, of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Wadman died in Afghanistan when his vehicle rolled over. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 265th Air Defense Artillery, Florida National Guard, West Palm Beach, Florida. Died on May 5, 2004.

Army Sgt. Roy A. Wood, 47, of Alva, Florida.

Wood was fatally injured when the vehicle he was traveling in near Kabul, Afghanistan hit another vehicle. He was assigned to Company C, 3rd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Army National Guard, based in Starke, Florida. Died on January 9, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Robert S. Goodwin, 35, of Albany, Georgia.

Goodwin died in Shkin, Afghanistan, when his patrol vehicle was ambushed by enemy forces using small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on September 20, 2004.

Henderson died in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, when his vehicle left the road and went into a river. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on August 4, 2005.

Army Spc. Kyle Ka Eo Fernandez, 26, of Waipahu, Hawaii.

Fernandez died in Miam Do, Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on October 14, 2004.

Illinois

Navy Machinist's Mate Fireman Apprentice Bryant L. Davis, 20, of Chicago, Illinois.

Davis fell overboard from the USS Kitty Hawk on November 7 into the Arabian Sea. Search and rescue efforts continued for more than two days. Declared deceased on November 10, 2001.

Army Staff Sgt. Edwin H. Dazachacon, 38, of Belleville, Illinois.

Dazachacon died north of Deh Rawod, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on February 13, 2006.

McLochlin died in Orgun-E, Afghanistan, when his unit encountered enemy forces using small arms fire. McLochlin was assigned to the Army National Guard 152nd Infantry Regiment, Marion Indiana. Died on July 5, 2006.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Marcus V. Muralles, 33, of Shelbyville, Indiana.

Muralles died while conducting combat operations when the MH-47 helicopter that he was aboard crashed in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan in Kumar Province. Andrews was on leave from her unit when she was struck and killed by a civilian vehicle as she was walking across U.S. Highway 69 near Overland Park, Kansas. She was assigned to the 129th Transportation Company, U.S. Army Reserve, New Century, Kansas. Died on September 26, 2003.

Army Sgt. Michael C. Barry, 29, of Overland Park, Kansas.

Barry died as a result of injuries sustained while a passenger in a vehicle that was struck by another vehicle in Doha, Qatar. Barry was assigned to the 205th Medical Battalion, Missouri Army National Guard, Kansas City, Missouri. Died on February 1, 2003.

Army Cpl. Jeremiah S. Cole, 26, of Hiawatha, Kansas.

Cole died in Bermel, Afghanistan of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Army Staff Sgt. Justin. J. Galewski, 28, of Kansas.

Army Sgt. 1st Class John D. Morton, 31, of Stanton, Kentucky.

Brixey died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, from wounds received as a result of an improvised explosive device while traveling in a convoy in Afghanistan on January 25, 2006. During Operation Enduring Freedom, his unit was attached to 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Died on January 27, 2006.

Marine 1st Lt. Brandon R. Dronet, 33, of Erath, Louisiana.

Dronet died when two CH-53 helicopters crashed into the Gulf of Aden in the vicinity of Ras Siyyan, northern Djibouti, while flying a training mission in the Godoria Range area. He was deployed to Djibouti as part of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. He was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464, Marine Air Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, II Marine Expeditionary Force, New River, North Carolina. Died on February 17, 2006.

Navy Chief Petty Officer Jacques J. Fontan, 36, of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Fontan died while conducting combat operations when the MH-47 helicopter that he was aboard crashed in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan in Kumar Province. He was assigned to SEAL Team Ten, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Died on June 28, 2005.

Marine Staff Sgt. Walter F. Cohee III, 26, of Mardela Springs, Maryland.

Cohee died when a Marine CH-53E crashed in a remote region 60 kilometers south of Bagram in Northern Afghanistan. Army Sgt. Jason T. Palmerton, 25, of Auburn, Nebraska.

Moreno was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Manda Bay, Kenya. He was assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, Port Hueneme, California. He was deployed as part of a Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa construction team. Died on October 14, 2005.

Navy Lt. Michael P. Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, New York.

Murphy died while conducting counter-terrorism operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Coalition forces located Murphy while conducting a combat search and rescue operation July 4, 2005 in Kunar Province; his whereabouts had been unknown since June 28, 2005. Army Sgt. Ian T. Sanchez, 26, of Staten Island, New York.

Sanchez died in Pech River Valley, Afghanistan, when his all terrain vehicle struck an improvised explosive device during combat operations. He was deployed to Djibouti as part of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. Jallah died due to a non-combat cause in Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He was medically evacuated from Afghanistan to Washington, D.C. via Landstuhl on February 16,2004. Army CW2 Jody L. Egnor, 32, of Middletown, Ohio.

Egnor was on board the MH-47 aircraft that crashed at sea in the southern Philippines. He was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on February 21, 2002.

Army Sgt. Ryan D. Foraker, 31, of Logan, Ohio.

Foraker was reported missing from his unit in Guantanamo, Cuba, on September 24, 2002. Exhaustive ground, sea, and air searches were conducted in an effort to locate him but were unsuccessful. Foraker's clothes and personal effects were found near the water's edge, leading the investigating officer, absent any evidence to the contrary, to determine that Foraker had died in the waters of Guantanamo Bay. An extensive criminal investigation uncovered no reason to suspect foul play. Foraker was assigned to the 342nd Military Police Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Columbus, Ohio. Declared deceased on November 1, 2002.

Army Spc. Daniel J. Freeman, 20, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Freeman died in Ghazni, Afghanistan, when the CH-47 helicopter he was on crashed. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Camp Ederle, Italy. Died on April 6, 2005.

Jones died of non-combat related injuries in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. He was assigned to the USS Higgins, home ported in San Diego, California. Died on October 8, 2003.

Air Force Master Sgt. William L. McDaniel II, 36, of Greenville, Ohio.

McDaniel was on board the MH-47 aircraft that crashed at sea in the southern Philippines. He was assigned to the 353rd Special Operations Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan. Died on February 21, 2002.

Army Sgt. Michael C. O'Neill, 22, of Mansfield, Ohio.

O'Neill died in Landstuhl, Germany, of accidental injuries sustained on November 17, 2004 at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, during preparations for combat operations. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on November 21, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Eric Caban, 28, of Fort Worth, Texas.

Caban died in southern Afghanistan of injuries sustained when his combat reconnaissance patrol came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire during combat operations on July 18. Beasley died in Ghazikel, Afghanistan, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 29th Infantry Division (Light Infantry), Winchester, Virginia. Died on August 7, 2004.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Anissa A. Shero, 31, of Grafton, West Virginia.

Shero died in the crash of a U.S. Air Force MC-130H Combat Talon II aircraft in the Paktika province of Afghanistan. She was assigned to the Air Force's 16th Special Operations Wing, Hurlburt Field, Florida. Died on June 12, 2002.

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Jeffrey S. Taylor, 30, of Midway, West Virginia.

Taylor died while conducting combat operations when the MH-47 helicopter that he was aboard crashed in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan in Kumar Province. He was assigned to SEAL Team Ten, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Died on June 28, 2005.

Marine Lance Cpl. Juston T. Thacker, 21, of Bluefield, West Virginia.

Thacker died from hostile fire near Bari Khout, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on June 24, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Gene Arden Vance, Jr., 38, of Morgantown, West Virginia.

Vance was killed when his unit came under attack from hostile forces in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 19th Special Forces Group, West Virginia National Guard. Died on May 19, 2002.

Army Staff Sgt. Robert F. White, 34, of Cross Lanes, West Virginia.

White died west of Kandahar, Afghanistan when his mounted patrol was engaged by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on September 26, 2005.

Wisconsin

Marine Lance Cpl. Nicholas R. Anderson, 21, of Sauk City, Wisconsin.

Anderson died in a non-hostile vehicle accident in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Died on March 13, 2006.

Army Spc. Robert J. Cook, 24, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

Cook died west of Ghazni, Afghanistan, when a weapons cache prematurely exploded. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on January 29, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Patrick L. Lybert, 28, of Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

Lybert died in Gowardesh, Afghanistan, when he encountered enemy forces using small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades during combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 71st Calvary, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on June 21, 2006.

Marine Lance Cpl. Ryan J. Nass, 21, of Franklin, Wisconsin.

Nass died from a non-hostile gunshot wound at Camp Blessing, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Died on September 3, 2005.

Air Force Senior Airman Adam P. Servais, 23, of Onalaska, Wisconsin.

Servais died when his vehicle came under hostile fire in Uruzgan province. He was assigned to the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida. Died on August 19, 2006.

Wyoming

Army Ranger Spc. Jonn J. Edmunds, 20, of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Edmunds was a passenger in a Blackhawk helicopter that crashed in Pakistan. Died on October 19, 2001.

Army Lt. Col. Charles E. Munier, 50, of Wheatland, Wyoming.

Munier died at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., from a non-combat related cause, which occured on June 5, 2006 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's training site in Guernsey, Wyoming. Died on June 12, 2006.

Army Lt. Col. Paul W. Kimbrough, 44, of Washington, D.C.

Kimbrough was medically evacuated from Baghram, Afghanistan, to Incirlik, Turkey. He was taken to the 39th Medical Squadron where he remained hospitalized until his death of a non-combat related cause. Kimbrough was assigned to the 416th Engineer Command, Team 28, U.S. Army Reserve, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on October 3, 2003.

Puerto Rico

Army Spc. Kelvin E. Feliciano-Gutierrez, 21, of Anasco, Puerto Rico.

Feliciano-Gutierrez was a .50 caliber gunner on a vehicle that was returning from patrol when it veered off the road and turned over in Orgun-E, Afghanistan. Feliciano-Gutierrez suffered fatal injuries while trapped under the vehicle. Feliciano-Gutierrez was assigned to Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on June 28, 2003.

Army Pfc. Emmanuel Hernandez, 22, of Yauco, Puerto Rico.

Hernandez died in Shkin, Afghanistan, when his helicopter-landing zone came under enemy fire. He was assigned to the 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy. Died on June 8, 2005.

Army Master Sgt. Edwin A. Matoscolon, 42, of Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.

Matoscolon died in Ghazni, Afghanistan, when the CH-47 helicopter he was on crashed. He was assigned to Division Artillery, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on April 6, 2005.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Luis M. Melendez-Sanchez, 33, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

Melendez-Sanchez died when two CH-53 helicopters crashed into the Gulf of Aden in the vicinity of Ras Siyyan, northern Djibouti, while flying a training mission in the Godoria Range area. He was deployed to Djibouti as part of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. He was assigned to the 1st Communications Squadron, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. Died on February 17, 2006.

Army Sgt. Orlando Morales, 33, of Manati, Puerto Rico.

Morales died after being wounded when his mounted reconnaissance unit took hostile fire in Geresk, Afghanistan. He was assigned to A Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on March 29, 2003.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Pedro A. Munoz, 47, of Aquada, Puerto Rico.

Munoz died in Shindand, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained January 1, 2005 when his patrol encountered enemy fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on January 2, 2005.

Corpuz died in Ghanzi, Afghanistan, from wounds sustained when his convoy came under enemy small arms fire and an improvised explosive device detonated during combat operations. He was assigned to the 303rd Military Intelligence Battalion, 504th Military Intelligence Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on June 11, 2006.
