"Al was always there with an answer whether it was on the project, about one or in the parking lot under the hood. Enjoyed hanging up the hard hat for the day and relaxing as well. Those many stories will live on as long as I do. Memorial Day 5/27/13"

"I served with Alec for several years and then I transfered duty stations. I lost touch with so many friends. Alec was a damn good BU but he was a better mechanic than any other at the team. I work with him on a couple of his cars in the parking lot of the unit. We would spend so many hours out there just tinkering. At the time I always thought of my self as the best mechanic at the unit. After working with him, I was very glad he was not in my rate. Because I would not of had the title for long. He was the coolest. The word is a little dimmer now and I have no competion. You will be missed my brother. Your friend, and dive buddy. Rex. 812 532 0861"

"Well, it has been two years since our accident. For those who do not know me, my name is Chris Hawkins and I was in the accident with Al. Only the Good Lord knows why I am not with Al right now, but I always keep you Dawn, the kids, yours and Al's family and everyone else affected by the loss in my prayers. Al was definitely an icon here at the team and the ones that KNOW him will all agree with me. As Bill said, he pretty much knew everything to know about the team. He should have put on Khakis a long time ago, but some of us know who prevented that one. Nonetheless, Al was a very knowledgeable person and I wish that I knew him longer to learn more from him. He is definitely missed and I walk out to his memorial here at the team quite often and say a prayer and I am thankful that I knew him.
We miss you, Al. God Bless you and all of us who go in harm's way."

"Al,
You will never be forgotten! I remember the day I met you when I joined the team in 1993. You and Steve were joined at the hip. Lance always turned to you for advice and even the dinosaur was careful to consult you. You always said you knew everything about everything and I for one believed you. I'll never forget the project at the Naval Academy where you and Lowell seemed to become like brothers. You endured the hardships of the job and kept on smiling. I'll never forget that you liked your beer warm, your fondness for old cars or how you liked to fix things. I watched the changes take place in your life from a single man to a devout husband and father. I felt very proud of you and the fact that you let me become your friend. I'm grateful for that. Your contributions to the Team will last forever and you certainly left your mark on me. To Steve, Lowell, family and friends of Al I pray for you in this time of need ...... If you ever need anything of me or mine, don't hesitate to call.
God Bless You Al!!"
