"Matt, Can't believe it has been 10 years ago today you were taken and left a huge void in the hearts and lives of so many people. We miss you and know that you are watching over us. You will never be forgotten buddy."
Lynn K of Redding, CA

Today you would have turned 30! You were with us for your 21st and went on a trap shoot the next day so hung over. Miss you and thank you for watching over Mitch. He saved a soldier's 1 year old son today who was choking. I know you had a hand in that buddy. When Mitch was telling us about it I just knew. Miss you at all of life's big events in our family, Mitch getting married and Amy getting married, Paige being born, Mitch turning the big 30. Miss your smiling face, funny laugh, your quiet strength. Please keep watching over us. Every time I hear geese fly over I know you're saying hi. Love you and miss you Son #2"
Lynn of Redding, CA

It has been far too long... I remember when you first arrived to us in the team... I remember all the things that we shared and went through along side of one another... I was there with you every step of the way. I know it all happens for a reason and I want you to know that somehow looking down on you trying to help, I felt an incredible sense of peace at some point that day when I was holding you... I dont know where it came from in all that dread I felt in those moments, but I know it was you telling me somehow you were ok. I'm sorry. You were one of the greatest guys I had ever had the pleasure of going into the valley's with.

Have a Sunny day Matt... Thanks for looking down throughout the years as I know in my heart your there.
I will see you one day!
I will visit you in Shasta someday I promise.

Nathan Long of Virginia

"That morning of the 22nd has been embedded in my brain even before the incident. I apologize that I haven't been able to visit you. But I promise that I will. I still remember when you, Boldt, Walters, and I all shared the little Room 112 together at Vicenza back then. After that day I told myself it was about time for me to move pass the Army. Instead I'm still here. I miss seeing your smile with that HUGE sign you had on your IBA. You were always true. I'm honored and privileged to have met you. You and everyone will not be forgotten.
