"Hello to the family members of BU3 Moreno. I was given his name during a Memorial Day 'Mindful Memorial,' so I naturally looked him up to learn about him. If there's anything you feel like sharing about his hobbies, his aspirations etc... it would be great to know more about your/our hero.
I'm so sorry for your great loss and am thinking about him and you this Memorial Day."

"Brothers Not Forgotten

You served with us on foreign lands, away from friends and family
Serving as you vowed to do, for your God and Country
You died one day so far away, you could not say goodbye
You gave your life unselfishly for the freedoms we enjoy
You’ve not died in vain my brother, you gave the greatest gift of all
As soldiers we are joined as one, brothers, one in all
You will not be forgotten, but will always remain within.
We will remember you and what you gave, till too; our lives will end.

Dedicated to: U.S. Navy Builder 3rd Class Fabricio Moreno; Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Three (NMCB-3)

""To the Moreno Family, I know this will be a very tough holiday season without Fabricio. The news of his passing was really a shock. Once he entered the navy, I had not really heard of how he was doing at all. I talked to Brendan, Victor and ALL to see if they heard anything. I only knew of him being stationed in California, then heard the tragic news of his passing in Africa. It was a sad occassion at the funeral and the wake that I attended but I feel honored I got to properly say goodbye to such a good friend. Fab was a person you could crack jokes with so easily so many remember him for that, but he really was such a giving person. In HS, he really did give alot of himself to help out others, this kind of stuff you really look at when sharing memories. Fab, we are all gonna miss you."

I have prayed and continue to pray that your wounds will heal as time passes. It is a blessing to have known Fabricio and to also know that he passed while serving a noble cause. Fabricio will always be remembered by all."

"TO THE MORENO FAMILY; THE FALLEN FAMILIES FROM LONG ISLAND THINK OF YOU. ALL THIS IS VERY DIFFUCULT TO DEAL WITH. WE AS INDIVIDUAL'S DEAL WITH IT VERY DIFFERNETLY FROM OTHERS. SOME HEALTH FASTER THEN OTHERS. AS WITH MY OUR SON SGT GRGEORY L. WAHL "DRAGON" THE TEARS FLOW TODAY. NO DIFFERENT FROM THE NEWS OF GREGORY. AN THE NEWS OF YOUR SON THOSE TEARS BECAME FABRICIO'S. GREGORY TAUGHT ME HE SERVED WITH MANY BROTHERS AND SISTERS FROM MANY BRACHES OF SERVICE. BOTTOM LINE DAD, I'M NOT ALONE AND ALL ARE WATCHING OVER ME AS I DO FOR THEM. NOTHING STRONGER THEN MILITARY FAMILIES! I WAS FORTUNATE TO ATTEND YOUR SON'S WAKE! AN MY HEART AND PRAYS ARE WITH YOUR VERY LOVING FAMILY. THE HOLIDAY ARE EVEN HARDER THEN THE NORMAL DAYS. STILL I ENJOY REFLECTING ON ALL THOSE FOND MEMORIES. AN I KNOW GREGORY, FABRICIO AND ALL OUR FALLEN ARE WATCHING OVER US. ONLY WANTING US TO BE HAPPY AND REMEBER THEM. GOD BLESS!"

"I worked with Fab in Time Warner Telecom. I can still remember his shy but always smiling face. He would turn red so easily and used to make me laugh like no other in the office. He could make you laugh not even by what he said, but what he didn't say. LOL Fabricio -- wherever you are now -- I know you are making someone else smile. Know always I will never forget you. You were a wonderful young man and will be sorely missed. I have cried many tears for your life that was stopped so short.

To the Moreno family: Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for your loss. May God keep him near and watch over you as well as Jorge who I know is also in the service. Stay safe Jorge. Please know that Fab was so loved and by so many. We will never forget Fabricio Moreno "The Kid" and he will always have a place in my heart.

Love, Jeanie"

"To the family of Petty Officer 3rd Class Fabricio Moreno.

My son, Isaac Ramirez, and Fabricio were room-mates in Port Hueneme, CA, they both deployed in early August 2005. Isaac to Iraq, Fabricio to Africa. Isaac called me from Iraq to let me know his “Best Friend” and room mate was gone. My son was devastated, his heart was broken and so was mine. He told me Fabricio was a good brother and friend, how he always encouraged him, pushed him to always do better. My heart and prayers goes out to the Moreno family. May God’s grace be with you during your time of sorrow and we thank you for your son, Fabricio, for his courage, his bravery and for the sacrifice. May God Bless you and your family.

Fabricio, thank you for being such a wonderful friend to my son.
You will always be remembered as a hero fighting for Freedom, you ARE a “TRUE AMERICAN HERO”

I know you are an Angel of God now, please watch over all the soldiers and guide them safely home."

"Fabricio and my husband is with NMCB3. They were both deployed in africa when Fabricio died. But I personally met Moreno when my husband brought him home for dinner last year.
Later on he would come to our house to hang-out with our friends.
I always remember him as being shy and quiet person. Everytime he spoke he always had his beautiful smiles. I may not have known him for a long time but he was treated like a family member. And he will always be part of our family. BU3 Fabricio Moreno on behalf of my husband, and our friends in NMCB3, We thank you for being part of our lives. For giving us those beautiful memories. "Let his death not be in vain, but rather an awakening for all of us. A sad reminder that life is short and each moment should be cherished.

I remember when he told me his decision of joining the service, he said that he wanted to do something more with his life. Little did he know, not only did he change his life, but those surrounding him.

I'll be seeing you kid!!

"I worked with Fabricio at Time Warner and all I can say is that it was an honor and pleasure to have known such a great human being. "All:

While working at TWTC it was always refreshing to walk through those doors and, for the most part, be pleased to actually go to work. Simply stated, we had fun. If the day started out in a down mood, we friends would almost go out of the way to get a laugh out of each other, almost to the point when the managers would have to tell us to “chill out.” We pushed the limit of fooling around and knew that the day wasn’t truly started until someone got into trouble for going too far with our antics. Many times we joked around so much that our sides ached and tears of laughter filled our eyes. We were family, truly family.

We are still family although apart. My thoughts still roam to those times when we were all like brothers and sisters. We even fought, at times, like a family. Now, as the times roll on we are one less. We have lost our comrade, Fab, “The Kid.” I remember Fab as my brother. He always had a smile on his face and I looked forward to seeing him in the office each day. The running jokes were many such as where he went to school. I would say he went to Saint John’s or UCLA, knowing he didn’t go to either of those schools. And, of course, we talked hours on the Mets and how they were the true NY team… But there wasn’t even a need for a topic of discussion, all that was needed was that my “brother” was in the office and he brightened my day. Miss him, oh yeah, I’ll miss him, I already do.

Fab, “The Kid” you lit up my life, made me smile and thanks for calling me “Mr. Met.”
