"To the Woodard Family,
There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him, he was like a brother to me and I miss him greatly, I was deployed to Afghanistan, when I got the news and it hit me very hard, I have lost a brother, but i know he died doing what he loved and for that we have to be grateful,I will NEVER forget him. I served with him at Fort Carson, the 5deuce (52nd ECB), and we used to call each other "Punk", that was how we addressed each other daily, we used to go to lunch together practically everyday, He was my brother, and I miss him.

I have some pictures of him if the family wants copies"
Raeleshia L. Crowder-Harris of Ft. Richardson, Alaska

"There is hardly a day that goes by that I do not think of SSG Woodard and others we have lost in this fight. My memories are of magnificent Americans who chose to be soldiers who are so ahead of their peers in duty, honor, and service. I am proud to have led SSG Woodard and wish I could have prevented his loss. I will never forget him and pray our country understands what sacrifice it has made. God bless and strengthen his family until we are all reunited."
Captain Eric M. Noe of Ft. Carson, CO. USA

"I met SSG Woodard in Italy before deploying to Afghanistan. I met him through SSG Russell, who to this day is very much affected by his loss. I remember all the laughs, the late night talks the three of us shared and it is something that I will always take with me. I have been in Afghanistan for 6 months and there is not a day that pass by that he doesn't cross my mind. I wear a memorial bracelet in his honor. To the family of Woody: I am sorry for your loss and I want you to know that he was a great soldier, an honorable man and a one of a kind friend."
SSG Corchado, Vanessa of SETAF Bagram, Afghanistan

"I was SSG. Woodard's soldier in the 52nd, he was a great mentor and best friend of mine. He was a guy that had no problem getting along with anyone. We served together in Iraq. He taught me so much about being a good soldier and person. When his daughter came to visit him from Germany, she and my daughter played. He was beyond happy when he recieved his orders to Germany. His daughter is very lucky to have a father that loved her so very much. I'll never forget him and will always keep his family in mind. My parents send there best wishes, and hope that everyday he contiues to shine down the love he shined when he was here in front of us."
Spc. Walter Maddox of Hannibal, MO
