"I remember our hikes in scouting together, Jacob. I have great photos of us climbing Mount Baldy at Philmont Scout Ranch. You were taken from us at the tender age of 25 and I am turning 40 this month. Unfair. I hope you and your family know you are not forgotten. Godspeed, my friend."

"It's hard to believe that it is about to be 7 years Fleischer. Your were one of my best friends in the Army and I will never forget all the times we got to have together. D&D in Afghanistan was by far the best thing we could have done. We tried to play without you but it just wasn't the same. You will be forever missed."

"Jacob,
I walk by your apartment everyday now. I laugh and share stories about you and wish that others could understand how funny they are if they only could have known you. I had a dream the other night about you and I was so excited to see you! You were laughing and smiling and I kept trying to catch up with you to talk to you but couldn't. It gave me comfort though to see your smile so vividly and I know you are happy and at peace. I miss you stinky."

"Jacob,
The other day, out of the blue I just broke down and cried thinking about you. I know you heard me, and heard what I said, but I want to say again what a great friend you were and how much fun I had. I love to remember our all day English and Dawson's Marathon. It's because of you I didn't fail my first college English class! I love you always!

The 5th anniversary of your death is quickly approaching, and you are in my thoughts all the time. I passed your old apartment a few weeks ago, and smiled thinking about all the good times had there. Myself and all your friends here miss you dearly, and I'm sad about everything you missed and will miss, even though I know that's the last thing you would have wanted. I'm honored to have had you as a friend."

"Fleischer, Not a day goes by and i dont think to myself what you would be doing now. How many people you would have touched. How many peoples lives you have made a difference in. We all lost a special person on that day. I wish I could have stopped it all. Or atleast made Coen slow it all down a little. We all miss you and think about you all the time. Rest in peace brother!"

"Dear Jacob, his family, and those who read this.
I was at a bar watching the Cardinals in the World Series, when I ran into a Parkway South Alumni. We were discussing our reunion coming up, and I mentioned you as the person I wanted to see the most. That's when I found out you gave your life for our country. I was floored. We weren't best friends, we really didn't know each other that well. We did show's together and talked at that time, but I never forgot you. Through out my life you've come up in my thoughts here and there, and everytime it's been, I wonder what that guy is up to. Little did I know you were doing what I couldn't. I'm proud to say I knew you, and I'm sad I'll never see you again.
Thank you Jacob for joining up, thank you for doing what I couldn't. Thank you for protecting all of us here. I'll never forget you, and I still listen to Phish and play D&D thanks to you."

"Jacob
I talk to you every night, sending messages in my prayers. I look at our star and remember our letters. I still have EVERY one in my "Jacob Shoebox" The lid has all your addresses from Bootcamp all the way to Afghanistan. As I read through some of them now, tears are flooding my eyes at the memory of your wonderful friendship. No one can ever replace you. I am listening to the song you said "exemplifies the part of life I added to yours" It makes me smile! To know that I touched your life as you did mine, makes the short time we had seem like forever. So this is how I remember you, and love you GoodBye Jacob. "Some days are diamonds;Some days are rocks;But if I never do nothing; I’ll get you back some day;Cause you got a heart so big;
It could crush this town; And I can’t hold out forever;Even walls fall down""

"My wife and I visited the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (10 Nov 05) and came upon the memorial marker for your son, Jacob. Placed on the ground in front of his granite memorial were individual photographs of what appears to be, fellow platoon members who also gave the ultimate sacrifice to our Nation. The visit to the cemetery and those photographs are a reminder to all of us that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. We will never forget the sacrifices of Jacob and his fellow platoon buddies. They are the reason why America is the Greatest Country on the face of Earth. "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13"
