"Bert,
We went to high school together, we were in the DEP together and we were at boot camp together. I remember when you had to wait a day to go down to the island and I got stuck in a different platoon. We still had our chats in the classroom and on the crucible. When I heard about your passing it hit me hard. I know now you are guarding the streets of heaven. Semper-Fi."

"I finished you quilt and as I step aside to take a better look at it I started to cry. I get very emotion when I get done with a quilt because I truly put my heart into it to honor your beloved. I hope when you receive your quilt you will find comfort in knowing that yes your son was not forgotten and that he is still very much honor by many. It was an honor designing your quilt and I pray and hope that you truly would wrap yourself in your quilt and feel the love that we put into it. If you need me you know you can email me at debeniel@ncn.net when you receive your quilt please take a picture of you and your quilt so we can put it on the website to honor your son and you."

"PFC Bertolino,
I have never met you, but we are brothers nontheless. I was one of the Marines present at the time your mother and father were notified of your untimely death. You have a wonderful family, and I pray that you are looking down upon them, comforted that they were taken care of during the hardest time of their lives. As Marines, we pride ourselves in taking care of our own; I hope you can take pride in the manner in which we took care of your family.
