"I am a former Marine who worked off and on with Matthieu for a couple of years. I can't tell you what a source of joy he was to me every time I saw him. Always he had a smile on his face. He was always trying to make my day a little brighter while I was going through some difficulties. He will forever be in my thoughts...know that he is missed dearly by his fellow Marines."

"To the family of matt,

that's how i knew him. we were best friends in MOS school, and we competed for the top spot in our class. he won it. he was the most competitive person i've ever met. he could not be beaten. he was a true warrior and a model marine. we were friends but i looked up to him in a lot of different ways. he was a bit older than me, and i'm kind of wild, and he didn't hesitate to keep me in check. he was very genuine in all his efforts, and anybody that knows him or ever met him undoubtedly feels the same way. i will never forget you matt. i wish you were still just a phone call away.

semper fi,
Al"
