"My familly and I will never forget what Danny did for our country in the Hindu Kush mountains. I found out about Operation Redwing through the book "Lone Survivor" and was extremely moved by the bravery of Seal Team 10. Danny will never be forgotten, I will never forget what he did for our Country. Since I read "Lone Survivor", not a day goes by that I don't think about Danny, Michael and Axelson. There are no words that can describe their bravery. This country is very proud of having men like Danny, men that step up to the plate when Liberty is in jeopardy. Rest in Peace Danny. I believe in Jesus Christ and I know that you are resting with Him in Heaven right now. He has had a special spot for you in Heaven since the day you were born."

"The soldiers do not speak. Nevertheless, they are heard in the still houses: who has not heard them? They have a silence that speaks for them at night and when the clock counts. They say: We are young. We have died. Remember us. They say: We have done what we could but until it is finished it is not done. They say: We have given our lives but until it is finished no one can know what our lives gave. They say: Our deaths are not ours: they are yours they will mean what you make them. They say: Weather our lives and our deaths are for peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot say: it is you who must say this. They say: We leave you our deaths. Give them their meaning. We were young. they say. We have died. Remember us:"

I just finished the book "Lone Survivor" and all can I say-Danny, Axe, Mike and the rest that perished on that mountain that day-you guys were what all Americans should dream to be. Going to a place 8000 miles away from home to fight the very people who attacked us is beyond more than most can comprehend. "Danny P. Dietz is a hero in every sense of the word. The accounts of his and his comrade's actions on a remote Afghanistan mountain as recounted in the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell validated my life-long belief that warriors like Danny, Marcus, Matthew G. Axelson, thier commanding officer, Michael P. Murphy as well as other brave soldiers, sailors and airmen from comflicts throughout our history are our "last line of defense".
I thank God for their sacrifices and fully believe that without these courageous men and women, we would not have this nation or the precious freedom they fought and died for in the service of their country.
My sincere appreciation to the parents, family and friends of Danny for the ultimate sacfifice to the security of our great Nation."
Dennis L. Smith, USN of Arvada, Colorado

"I was reading the incredible story of that battle in the NY Post on Friday - October 19th 2007. There was a picture of Six of the Seals involved, but Danny wasn't in the picture although of-course in the story. I wanted to see his picture on the internet before I finished the story. The Lone Survivor in the picture wrote a book about the battle called "Lone Survivor". I will be sure to buy this book and read more about the incredible story surrounding this tremendous soul Danny Dietz."
Owen J. Kenny of Long Island, NY

"9-11-2007
On this anniversay, our nation must remember the fallen soldiers who went to protect us from the ones who master-minded that horrible day. They gave all to keep it from happening again. Freedom isn't free!! Our troops pay a dear price daily as do their families. The stories of these brave people should be told and re-told daily "lest we forget". If we do, it will happen again. To the families, may God grant you peace and enfold you in His Love. Thank you for what you gave. It can never be repaid."

"Thank you Danny"

"It's hard to find any words that describe the complete and total valor of our troops. All of the troops who fight day in and day out, and their families who support them, deserve our eternal gratitude. I feel it's a debt that can never be repaid. I, like the rest of America, heard about the unbelievable loss we suffered in Hindu Kush. I just read Lone Survivor and find it nearly impossible to grasp what our men do to keep us safe. To take the fight to the terrorists so they can't bring the fight to our homeland. How do you thank them enough? I believe in you and will support you to the day I die. Forget the liberal media, forget those who choose to fight a war with politics instead of letting our troops do what they're trained to do. Whatever the outcome, whatever the cause, I'll support you.

I have two little boys. They'll know who true heroes are when they hear stories about you. You'll never be forgotten because you'll live on in the hearts of us all. We will not only never forget 9/11, we'll never forget the incredibly brave soldiers who fight for us. They fight in places we've never heard of, in situations we'd never dream of. And for that, I thank them.

I thank the families left behind. Those who are selfless enough to love and know their loved ones go to answer the calling of this great nation. You are never forgotten either.

To the parents, brothers and sisters and every other family member who has raised such true men, I thank you.

To our soldiers, our defenders, our heroes. I thank you for protecting my boys and family without even knowing us. I thank you for protecting this country that is so unlike any other. I thank you for living with what you've seen and doing what you've done.

I don't really know how to say thank you in any other way, but to live the best life possible, that you make possible.

Danny, Axe and Mike, I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

""If you are able,
save them a place
inside of you
and save one backward glance
when you are leaving
for the places they can
no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say
you loved them,
though you may
or may not have always.
Take what they have left
and what they have taught you
with their dying
and keep it with your own.
And in that time
when men decide and feel safe
to call the war insane,
take one moment to embrace
those gentle heroes
you left behind.

"I give you this one thought to keep
I am with you still - I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still - in each new dawn."

"I'M 100% IN SUPPORT OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND WHERE THE STATUE IS PLANNED TO BE SET. IF PEOPLE ARE SO WORRIED ABOUT WHAT THEIR CHILDREN ARE BEING 'EXPOSED' TO, WHY AREN'T THEY WORRIED ABOUT LOOSING THIS WAR? IMAGINE WHAT THEY WILL BE EXPOSED TO IF WE LOOSE. I AGREE THAT THE STATUE WITH THE GUN WILL GIVE THEM PAUSE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT WAS SACRAFICED AND LOST IN THE FIGHT FOR FREEDOM. DON'T LET THEM BEAT YOU DOWN. STICK TO YOUR PRINCIPALS. PRAYERS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY."
BERNICE of CT.

"I am 100 percent behind the statue in Littleton Colorado. If anything, the statue should and will remind the children of the sacrifices our service members make in our behalfs. Maybe it will remind our children that we are free to do soooo many things in our country because of soldiers like Danny.
God Bless,
Debbie"

"To the Dietz family; I will do whatever I can to ensure that Danny is memorialized in the best way possible. He represents all that is good in man, and the children of Littleton, the children of America, and the children of the world need to know men such as Danny lived, and died, for them. I have taken my children to Lexington and Concord. We have walked in the home of Paul Revere. They have visited the killing fields at Manassas and Gettysburg. And they will visit his memorial. Thank you for raising such a good child into a great man."

"Danny was a student here @ CFAHS. He always shared with me his dream of becoming a Navy SEAL. Soon after 9/11, a man came to my office. It was Danny who had just graduated from Navy SEAL training. I was so proud of him! He was on his way to more training before deploying overseas. I never saw or heard from him again until we all heard the awful news. Danny not only died for our country but he also died for something he always wanted to be, A Navy SEAL. God Bless You Danny! We all miss you very much! - Arnie Gallegos - Guidance Counselor @ CFAHS"

it was a great pleasure to finally meet you two. Our talk was so comforting and sharing the stories of our sons, I believe has helped me to start healing. Your son was a beautiful and honorable man. "When tommorow starts without me ME,
and I'm not there to se.
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears fo me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry,
the way you did today.
While thinking of many things,
we don't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you.
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tommorow starts without me,
please try to understand.
That an angel came and called me,
and took me by the hand.
And said my place was ready,
in heaven far above.
And that I'd have to leave behind,
all thouse I early loved.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When GOD looked down and smiled at me,
from his great golden throne.
He said "This is eternety,
and all i promised you".
Today for life on earts past,
but here it starts anew.
I promise no tommorow,
for today will always last.
And since each day's the same way,
there's no longing for the past.
So when tommorow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart.
For every time you think of me,
I'm right there in your hart.

For YOU Danny.....RIP"
