"It was a complete shock to learn that you are no longer with us. I can still remember when we sat next to each other in high school. You had such a beautiful smile and a sweet personality. I truly regret not keeping in touch. I'm proud of the man that you became and I know you are in a better place. You are loved and sorely missed."

"I did not know your fallen hero son. I saw his name fleetingly on the memorial wall of during a CNN video about Sgt. Robert Miller's Medal of Honor recognition when it showed a member of Sgt Miller's team pointed to his name on the memorial wall and speaking about Sgt Miller's bravery that save his life and that of fellow team members. Your son's name was in that picture as well.

You son's name jumped out at me simply because "Jacoby" was my maiden name.

Sgt. Miller deserves the recognition his sacrifice and heroism has been accorded.

Your son, too, is a fallen hero to whom this country and its citizens owe no less a debt of gratitude and honor.

With humble appreciation, thank you for his sevice and sacrifice, and condolences on your loss."

"Kip,

Man, I know I only got to hang out with you for a short time. But in that short time you taught me about drifting, you taught me how to skip class, Initial D, and where to buy sodas across the campus in Highschool. Ya were a good friend, and I know that last night I hung out with ya in Albuquerque I'll never forget. I'm in the desert now, and I promise i'll do my best out here.

"To say Kip is missed is so totally understated. Kip grew up with my son Billy in Boy Scouts in the Pompano Elks troop. He spent many days and nights at our house....which is just as nutty and bright as the Kipster. My heart aches this Memorial Day 2006 as my family misses one of the brightest, sweetest, zaniest, most helpful man anyone could ever know. I pray and think of Steve and Kathy his parents. All of Pompano and Ft. Lauderdale misses you , Kip. I ask God all the time to tell you hello and to let you know we miss you. Punch out a demon for us and have fun loving God and Jesus and living in your mansion. See you when God calls me."
Lindsay R. Mowery of Pompano Beach, Fl

"Dear Kip, remember when we were young, you always knew how to make me smile no matter what was going on. Those are some of my best memories hanging out together at our family reunions. I think about you often and miss you greatly. I think what helps me most is knowing that the life you gave is to protect freedom for the rest of us. I only hope I/we never take that for granted. I believe there will be a day when we meet again.
With love, your cousin,
Brian"
