"Travis (aka: Tane),
We all grew up knowing you as Travis so that is how I will address you now. There are no words to express how much you are missed in this world and how honored we all feel to have had you a part of our lives. Matt graduated this weekend, he told me he looked into the audience and felt a void when you were not there, I assured him that you were looking down that night and I was sure that you were proud of him! Some day we can all catch up again because I am confident with the loving and special soul that you had here on earth that you are waiting in heaven for your family and friends to some day join you. Thank you for everything that you gave to all you knew during your time on earth but thank you more for serving our country and the ultimate sacrifice that took you to heaven."
Katie Sargent of Athena, Oregon

"To the family of Tane. I am SSG Davis, Jerry. I served with him in Afghanistan, and let me say it was an honor. Tane always lifted spirits, and will always be missed. I think on that day alot as I am back in uniform on yet another overseas tour. I just hope that peace is in the air as you think on him, and remember him. Tane made the ultimate sacrifice, and is missed. May God Bless you all. SSG Davis, Jerry W."

"Re: SGT Tane Baum

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,700 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

"As a mom of five young children, I am so grateful for the sacrifice of this brave solder Tane T. Baum. You are loved by many. Words can not express the emotion. He payed the ultimate price for our freedom and the freedom of so many other people who suffered under the rule of Sadaam. May God be with his family in this time of sorrow and may you find comfort in the fact that we think about Tane's sacrifice for the love of his country. May we NEVER forget! Thank you!"

"To The Baum Family:
I can't imagine the pain of what you are going through and I admit that I am not envious of your situation. However I am proud to say that my family member was serving in the same unit as Tane and I know that they all feel that it is not the same without his sweet spirit there. At a time of loss you really contemplate your existence, but you know that Tane was a proud soldier and was proud to serve his country and protect his family, and that is what he is still doing even now and will always do. God Bless Tane and your family always for your extreme sacrifice. I know I will never forget him and will always be appreciative"
