I'm sad that you are gone because I know how much you loved your children. I don't speak of you to anyone because no one would understand. Well, CB might but he is off protecting the world in your place. I hope you are watching over your children. It rained on your birthday and I remembered that country song, something about tears through the fall of heaven."

"February 17,2008

Rob,
Today would've been your 30th birthday! The girls and I went to the Primary school and they sang you Happy Birthday by the Memorial plaque with your name on it. Leilani bent over and kissed your name rubbing the plaque. She wanted to call you today to wish you a happy birthday but of course I told her it would be a very long distance call from here to Heaven to reach you. We spent time looking at pictures of your beautiful smile today too. We miss you so very much and not a day goes by that we don't talk about you. We love you & miss you!!!"

"I remember when I first got to the 3-505 82D Airborne in 1996, Mogensen was doing push ups for sgt, Miller. Moog had a huge smile on his face.He always did.Under adversity he shined like no other. After selection he came back to the 3-505 where he was my section sergent in AT-4 delta. We were out in the field training and another company was attacking our position. He was yelling out commands to the enemy to confuse them. they thought the yelling was coming from there own sergent and they broke contact giving us a momentary tactical edge.He was a friend a leader and a true Hero. To the family from all of us who served with him in Delta Co. 3-505 (PIR) 82D Airborne. You will forever be in our thoughts and prayers, Yours truely, SPC David Saddington"

"My son , Staff Sargeant Zachary Harrison, is in the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces, same team. This is his second trip to Afghanistan; wounded twice since August. Certainly this is nothing like what your family must think about and go through everyday. I pray for you and think about all our young men who have done what they believe is the right thing in protecting us. I pray your family can heal from this and I am thinking about you. "To the Mogensen family and friends,
I was very deeply saddened to find out of Rob's passing, and wanted to share with everyone something that makes me think of him.
I served with Rob in the 82nd and remember well when he was a Private through to Sergeant, I wish I had a hand in him being the great solider that he was. It was all Rob, he worked so hard but made it look so easy. His sense of humor was so classy, he would give that half smile of his... and I knew just seeing it in his eyes it was going to be a remark or a joke that would have everyone laughing to no end. Even someone who was the butt of his joke couldn't help but find humor in his comments. He'll always be a hero in everyone's hearts he touched, I'll never forget him he really was a confident, dedicated, person who always carried himself as a hero."

"Dear Rob:

Today is your birthday. . . February 17, 2006.

I thank my God every time I remember you. . .
Philippians 1.3

I believe that God brings certain people into our lives for a reason. . . .Whatever reason God had in bringing us together, I'm just glad that he did. Although Bill and I only knew you a short time at the end of your life, you have certainly left your footprint on our hearts and we will carry our memories of you always.

Tonight we will be celebrating your life with Tanya, Josh, Vanessa and Leilani. Your family is such a blessing in our lives.

You would be so proud of Tanya. She has made certain that your service to God, your Country and your Family will forever be remembered. Bill and I have been fortunate to visit your gravesite in Arlington. Tanya has visited with the children numerous times.

Tanya has kept in touch with your Mother and all of the family with several trips to New York as well as phone calls. Your sister, Kayla, and brother, John also receive visits from Tanya and the kids in Charlotte, NC.

Tanya's Mother and Father, as well as her siblings, receive visits from Josh, Vanessa, and Leilani in both Louisiana and Texas. They are also in touch by phone constantly.

Tanya is vested in both Josh's and Vanessa's school activities. Josh is playing trombone and made the drum corps. You'd be so proud of his baseball prowess. He certainly has your determination (and stubbornness). Vanessa is definitely your princess with her grace and dance/gymnastic abilities. Both Josh and Vanessa participate regularly in Church and other service activities.

Leilani is definitely a gift from God. She has helped everyone in dealing with your loss by demanding attention. Everyone seems to agree that she has your mischievous smile.

We will always be grateful to our mutual friend, Barry Coyle, for introducing us. We talk about you so often with Barry and other friends.

Tanya and all of the kids are wearing a shirt with your picture on it today in honor of your birthday. We are celebrating your life tonight with Tanya and the kids, grilling steaks--one of your favorite things. Birthdays are little reminders from God. . that life is to be celebrated!

Happy Birthday, Rob! As your Christian brother and sister respectively, Bill and I miss you and we thank you for your sacrifice for so many.

With love and appreciation to God for your life,

Martha Server"

"Rob, not a day goes by where i dont think about you, you were my best friend, i miss all the good times we had during the Q course and in Group. My prayers go out to your family. I made a glass and wood memorial case with pictures of you and it hangs on my living room wall. My son who is 3 years old now always asks about who that is in the pictures inside the glass, and i always tell him the same thing, that is the greatest man i have ever known. I will see you again when my time comes."

"Tanya and kids,
I was very surprised at the news you recently shared with me on your Brave Husbands passing, It was a heart break for me. I want you to know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers."

"i served with mog when he first came into the army at the 505th. i remember spending a lot of time out in the field with him and when he became one of my soldiers when i made e-5. Out of all of the soldiers i ever trained, mog made a name for himself getting his ranger tab and special forces tab. i have always been very proud of him for his accomplishments. unfortunately, i recently heard the news a year late and my heart is broke. My thoughts, prayers, and heart go out to his wife and his family. One time in the field, he expressed to me how much he loved his wife and at that time, kid, but i know that would of been extended to all his children now the love he had. I only hope that some day that they would grow to understand that i know mog had my back when i was in, and i know he was the same like wise to everyone else, but in my mind, and all the rest of his fellow soldiers, he was a real hero. i do miss him alot and hope that his family would find comfort someday. my prayers are always with you."

"I was scrolling through the list of those sisters and brothers that have given there lives in our country's most recent of battles, hoping not to find any names of people with whom I served. I was deeply saddened to find Robert amongst those names. We were in the same company, D co. 3-505, for a brief period before Moge went to Special Forces. I remember him always smiling, just as others have remembered him here. I felt lucky to have known such a friendly soul. My condolences to all of his loved ones. May peace be with you."

"To my dear brother and friend.
You will always hold a very special place in my heart. It has been 5 months since you have been gone and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. You are greatly missed. You are my big bro and I love you very much. You would be very proud of me if you were still here, but I know that you know. I finally made that move that you and John have been begging me to do. Moving to North Carolina was the best thing that I have done. Now I can see your children whenever I want. I can see you in your childrens eyes and expressions that they do and it is a great reminder of you. I miss you terribly and love you very much. This has been so hard for me, and I have pushed people away. There are days that go by that I just don't want to deal with it anymore. I know that you would want me to be happy and go on with my life but it is very difficult to be happy without you here. Robert I just want you to know that you will always be in my heart, and you will always have that special place in my heart. You are my hero! I love you very much, and you will never be forgotten."

BobbyJoe you are missed so much. He was such an honorable young man, son, husband & nephew. It has been 4 months since we heard the news you were taken from us and you are in my prayers and thoughts everyday. There will always be an empty space when we all get together at parties, because you always made the room light up when you were in it. I look to the heavens and I see the sun and your beautiful face in it, that beautiful smile of yours. Your eyes are the light in your daughters eyes and you will live on in them forever. Thank you so much for your sacrifice & Love. The beautiful memories of you BobbyJoe, I know you wanted us to call you Rob but you will always be our Little BobbyJoe to us. All My Love, Hugs & Kisses surround you and may God keep you safe in his arms. You will never be forgotten. Until we meet again and we will. I am so thankful for the short time we had with you on this earth and will always regret that it wasn't longer. But there was a bigger plan for you, bigger than we can comprehend or ever understand. I'm just being a little selfish because we weren't ready to lose you, not that we would ever been ready. I Love you my Dear Robert, until we met again, until we meet again! I will be standing there with open arms for you wanting to protect you like when you were a little boy. You turned into such a man, your dying won't be in vane."

"To Rob's family and friends: To be honest I always wanted to know what he was thinking. He always looked like he always had a funny secret that no one else knew. I most liked Rob because he was always happy, smiling and joking around. It made it so much better to have him around. I most remember him on the 50cal. Always on the 50. And when it was time to go to work that man was all buisness. To Rob: Thank you for teaching me how to ride a motorcycle! I didn't know how before. I'll always remember that day at the fire base when we rode unitl the sun went down. It will always be one of my best memories."

"I had the pleasure to meet Rob on one of his visits home to the states when he and his brother John stopped by my house in Charlotte one evening. He was everything you would expect from a Green Beret... Smart, Courageous and Engaging. For me it was being able to ask him questions about what he was doing in Afghanistan as a soldier, learning about the people who met. Truly just asking him all about his experiences and thanking him for serving his country. Rob, you have touched a lot of us and we miss you."
