Marine Lance Cpl. Nicholas J. Sovie

20, of Ogdensburg, New York.
Sovie died when two CH-53 helicopters crashed into the Gulf of Aden in the vicinity of Ras Siyyan, northern Djibouti, while flying a training mission in the Godoria Range area. He was deployed to Djibouti as part of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. He was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464, Marine Air Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, II Marine Expeditionary Force, New River, North Carolina. Died on February 17, 2006.

It's been almost four years since you gave your life for our freedom. I have since been on two deployments, and am half way to my bachelors degree... I'm trying to take your advice, well at least when it comes to getting my education ;) I just want you to know that you are in my thoughts, each and every day, and that you are truly an American Hero.
