"Jesse and I have been friends since basic. When you get to Basic they assign you a battle buddy, but after a while you develop true battles. Jesse was my battle.
I think about you often, and when I hear the word hero you always come to mind. Big hugs, love and miss you brother."

"To the Zamora Family:

I was with Jesse on that combat patrol; a mission which has been permanently burned into my memory. I was the Staff Sergeant in command of the HMMWV in front of Jesse's vehicle. It was my vehicle and crew that performed his CASEVAC with SFC Shearer's HMMWV on point.

I met your family briefly at the Leader Battalion barracks during a unit function. It was an honor. You were so kind to all of us, even while hurting so much.

I wanted leave message here so that you will know that we still miss Jesse, mourn his loss, and will never forget him. To this day I still wear the bracelet honoring him, and I speak proudly of him when I tell his story.

I only hope that I can continue to serve in a manner that reflects the spirit of Jesse's service, and honors both his memory and the sacrifices you have made as a family.

God bless all of you!
RAKKASAN!"
