"It was an honor serving along side of you! You were without a doubt one of the best and funniest people I have ever known. You are deeply missed. Semper Fi."

"I was watching videos of "Requiem for a Soldier" today and saw Travis' tombstone and wanted to say words of thanks to his family for his sacrifice to his country that we might remain free."

"10/31/2020
May we honor the lives of those who have fought for our freedom with the way we choose to live our own, I was chosen because of a very close friend who served with the 48 Marines and Corpsmen who sacrificed it all; to read each story, to get to know a small piece of their lives through families and friends. I chose to honor each of them with a bible verse:

Travis L. Youngblood 7/21/05
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." - John 3:16-17 (Hero)"

"Doc,
Another year and I continue to think about you this Memorial Day of 2020. You are missed and loved by so many - I can still remember talking to you prior to leaving. You didn't want to miss that beautiful little girl's first step or first word. As your CMC, I feel so heavy at heart letting you go sooner rather than later, but understand, even now it is something a Marine Corps Doc does. Each year your story is on my office door on the ship (all summer) and more than I could ever count stop, read, see the photos and walk away silently. And many cry with me. I love you, Brother and am soooo proud of you and your family. I am underway on USNS Brittin - tomorrow is Memorial Day and every person onboard will read of your heroism and sacrifice. Your story will never end and I have faith one day we'll see each other again. God bless you and your wonderful strong family.

CMC"

"I am doing a Goruck 9/11 Memorial Event in Washington D.C. next week and we were assigned to honor a service member that paid the ultimate sacrifice in response to 9/11. As I searched, I came across photos of Travis and chose him. Maybe because he worked as a medic and was a father and husband, as I am nurse, wife and a mother. Seeing photos of Travis, his wife and children really reminds me how important it is to remember and honor those that have died for our freedom. I will be carrying a photo of him along with some information about him also in honor of him. Thank you."
Michelle of Cleveland, OH

"I saw a photo of Travis's headstone on FB today. I had to Google his name and find out more about him. I thank you and him for your service to our great country, and a salute for his ultimate sacrifice. I pray that the our Lord will bless your family and strengthen you all. Travis is not forgotten, he is an American hero!"
J. Phillips of Madison, FL.

"To the Family and Friends of Travis Youngblood,

This past weekend I had the honor and privilege of running in Travis's memory, his name proudly displayed on my shirt, as myself and fellow Marines of 3/25 made our way from Albany to New Windsor on foot. He lives on with the other 47 Marines and Sailors we lost in 2005, and we will continue to ensure that the story of his life and sacrifice will not go untold.""
Joe Shearer of San Antonio, TX

"Dear Family of Mr. Youngblood:
I am a 54 yr.old widowed woman who watches Nancy Grace each night. My heart hurt so badly when Travis's picture graced the screen tonight. I am so sorry that he was killed. If I feel such wretching in my stomach about this by just seeing Travis's picture I cannot imagine how you people, as his family, must feel. I am sure you must be completely devastated. All of our military families really do sacrifice so much, way beyond what people know.
I will say a prayer for you to be at peace and for each of you to only feel and remember the good about and in your loved one, Travis Youngblood.

Much love to you and may time heal your wounds.

Sincerely"
Linda McLawhorn of Tampa, Florida, United States of America

"Time heals. Be strong and let things fall into place. He's much closer now, and things are by no means over. Keep moving forward alongside Travis and watch how he's indeed still around, waiting to meet once again one day. Be in peace, but first let our hearts heal. My utmost regards to all. My honour to serve, and even more proud to be in the US NAVY."
S A Gallegos, PS3, USN of Norfolk, Virginia, USA

"Dear Laura,
The photograph on page 21 of Newsday (June 1, 2010)of Emma & Hunter at their father's grave is both heartbreaking and inspirational. We have two family members in the armed forces who have five combat deployments between them in the past 9 years. We can't imagine at all what it would be like to not have had them come home safely each time. I want you all to know how grateful my family is for the courage and sacrifice of Travis. Corpsman like Travis go into harm's way for only one reason: to save the lives of their sisters and brothers in arms. They are the saints of the battlefield. Our family will keep you in our prayers, as we ask God to give you strength, and peace."
The Matz Family of East Hampton, NY, USA

"I show "Combat Diary" to the community college students I teach. I have several students in my classes each semester who are veterans or family of veterans. I had the honor to sing a blessing over your loved one's body at a formal ceremony at Baghdad International Airport while I was on tour with Tops in Blue; the United States Air Force's Entertainment Troupe. Our vocal team sang a blessing that day in the back of a C130. We all wept bitterly. I NEVER forget that day as long as I live. On behalf of Tops in Blue 2005, we will be praying for you and that moment had an eternal impact on, not only myself, but the entire team."

I just saw you on Hannity and Colmes. My son just returned from a year in Iraq. While he was gone, I wrote monthly columns in the Charlotte Observer and sane people woundn't believe the hate mail I got from the so-called "peaceful" crowd. I'm sure you would believe it because you are probably getting some yourself. I want to say "Bravo!" You are a lovely, brave and articulate woman and you are doing your husband and all of our fighting men and women great honor. "I went to elementary school with Travis. In a small town it is near impossible not to get to know everybody, and do to that you develop a small tight nit group. Although we all grow up and life moves us to different locations, you never forget the memories that those years leave behind. I hadn't seen travis in years, but true friends are friends for life. Laura, my husband and I are very sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers will always be with you. I only hope that through faith you and your children may find some peace. We all grow in different walks of life but we are never forgotten. His sacrifice, wisdom, and sly comedian skills will forever be remembered.
