"Today setting in my office I am reminded,in 2008 I was working on a 5 ton truck and on the windshield had a decal in Memory of Trevor. I cut the glass out had it a shadow box made and contact Debi about him and was sent pictures. As I sat here today with all of the unrest and flag burning. I am honored to have this memorial of Trevor in my office. It has been almost 12 years from the day I saved the decal from the windshield of a 5 ton truck. It serves to remind me why I love America so many people have made the ultimate sacrifice for me. With all that I could say in every langue Thank so much to the Parents of Trevor who gave all that I might have so much freedom to live in the United States of America. We are reminded of Trevor's memory everyday and the sacrifice he made in the Truck Body Repair Branch at RRAD"

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"To the family of Trevor:
I need you to know that my son, Ryan was one of the soldiers who tried to save Trevor's life that fateful day on the side of that dirt road. He will forever be marked by his friendship with Trevor and how he died. This friendship was so great, that to this day my son wears a sterling silver band on his wrist that has Trevor's name and date of birth and death on it. Everytime I glance over at it, my heart hurts for all of you and those lives that Trevor touched, because I think about how close it was that it could have been my Ryan. Fortunately, my son came home safe and is now a happily married man, but I know he thinks of this tragic day often. He is about to have his first baby and I would not be surprised if he even thought of naming him Trevor!
Thank you, Trevor, for your sacrifice. To his Mom, I don't know if I could do what you have done for the other soldiers. This is such an unselfish act and we thank you too for your sacrifice.
With all our good thoughts,"

"MY FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN
I SEE THE COUNTLESS CHRISTMAS TREES
AROUND THE WORLD BELOW
WITH TINY LIGHTS, LIKE HEAVEN'S STARS,
REFLECTING ON THE SNOW.
THE SIGHT IS SO SPECTACULAR,
PLEASE WIPE AWAY THE TEAR
FOR I AM SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH
JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR.
I HEAR THE MANY CHRISTMAS SONGS
THAT PEOPLE HOLD SO DEAR
BUT THE SOUNDS OF MUSIC CAN'T COMPARE
WITH THE CHRISTMAS CHOIR UP HERE.
I HAVE NO WORDS TO TELL YOU,
THE JOY THEIR VOICES BRING,
FOR IT IS BEYOND DESCRIPTION,
TO HEAR THE ANGELS SING.
I KNOW HOW MUCH YOU MISS ME,
I SEE THE PAIN INSIDE YOUR HEART.
BUT I AM NOT SO FAR AWAY,
WE REALLY AREN'T APART.
SO BE HAPPY FOR ME, DEAR ONES,
YOU KNOW I HOLD YOU DEAR.
AND BE GLAD I'M SPENDING CHRISTMAS
WITH JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR.
I SENT YOU EACH A SPECIAL GIFT
FROM MY HEAVENLY HOME ABOVE.
I SENT YOU EACH A MEMORY
OF MY UNDYING LOVE.
AFTER ALL, LOVE IS A GIFT
MORE PRECIOUS THAN PURE GOLD.
IT WAS ALWAYS MOST IMPORTANT
IN THE STORIES JESUS TOLD.
PLEASE LOVE AND KEEP EACH OTHER
AS MY FATHER SAID TO DO.
FOR I CAN'T COUNT THE BLESSING OR LOVE
HE HAS FOR EACH OF YOU.
SO HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND WIPE AWAY THAT TEAR.
REMEMBER, I AM SPENDING CHRISTMAS
WITH JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR."
