"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. "What's up, my cracker? Its coming up on 3 years and I still think of you every single day. I'm over here in Mosul, Iraq and I can't wait to get home. Mel and I will stop by your spot to drink a couple of beers and knock back some Henn-dog in your honor. It is the least I could do to show my appreciation for you my brother. I know your looking out for Mel and I while we're over here. She would of loved you and I know you would of loved her too. She is an amazing person and I'm amazed that she is willing to put up with me. I guess it's my charm and wit that keeps awesome people around me. Well I love you and I still miss you. You are still a motivating force in my life and I plan to make you proud. You never let me down and I'll always be thankful for knowing you! Keep the door open for us! Peace!"

"hey brother, just got back from seein WU-TANG, like we did the night before you left for the Army. As soon as RZA walked out, all i could think about was you. Coming up on three years since we hung out last and you're memory is still in my heart. I am so thankful that i got to spend that time with you while you were home for two weeks. When someone dies people try to glorify their life to help comfort them. This is NO glorification: You are a saint in my book brother. Your light shined too bright for this place and I know you are where I want to be. I am honored to have known you and I hope to become half the man you are."

"I visited Charles' grave today, as I have every few months for the past few years. It feels uplifting to kneel beside him, in the grass, to see his headstone clean, when I am feeling tired, from work, stress, or anything else that brings one displeasure. Early in the morning, I have spoke to him, as I have searched for memories in my mind, thoughts of past times, when we were in school, or out somewhere cracking jokes. His positive manner, and dedication to excellence have motivated me and comforted me in some of my hardest times. Although I can no longer physically spend time with him, his memory serves as an example to myself, and others, of how a person is to be, and should be. I find it tragic that so noble a being has been put into such an early resting place, much too soon before he was ready to go. His life inspired and continues to inspire others to lead lives beyond that of desparate insignificance.
Charles, we MISS you, and we HONOR you, as the flags of our hearts will remain at half mast forever."

"To the family and friends of SGT. Webb, as another Memorial Day fastly approaches I can't help but to remember the great friends and love ones we've lost. I first met SGT. Webb in Kosovo, then a specialist and current winner of the soldier of the quarter board. I remember this well because the previous winner was a female MP and it seems like the people at the north defac at camp bond steel think she was so cute that it was taking them forever to replace her picture with Chuck’s, so one afternoon our 1SG. (Lee) decided that since he was one of us, we will help them recognize him. So he sent me to his office for a picture of SPC. Webb and we made the change right there in front of everyone. Another great moment in time was when he beat me in basketball at camp monteith, he always had a smile on his face and was always ready to help in whatever. I had just got back from R&R and was awaiting a ride back to FOB GABE when I over heard someone said hey SGT. Webb Passed and it was obvious to me that this person wasn't in our unit or even know the person he was talking about or he wouldn't have sound that way, so I was like what did you just say and he was like chill I am sorry I didn't know you know him, my whole day was shot after that. The thing is allot of the guys never understood the close connection they share with the people with whom they serve, I was their supply Sergeant and everything they needed I get it for them even when I didn't had it, I would go find it else where and get it for them, because that was my job and I also believe it or not was very happy to be in that position. Sad thing is that I also have to be the one along with some Officer to pack his stuff and send it home and that's one of the hardest thing you can ask a friend to do. I will never forget you for the great person and friend you have been to me and so many, God bless, Rest in Peace and May God continue to bless your family.

"Chuckie I think about you every single day. I have your picture on my mirror and I look at your ugly face everytime I look at my ugly face. I wish I could have saw you just one more time. I wish I could have been at Billy's bachelor party so I could have kicked that door in and get your drunk * out of that bath room. I love you so much and I know I don't call mom and dad enough but I know that they know I love you, as well as them, very much. I close my eyes and see your huge smile and I want you back so much it hurts to think about it. I know you are helping through life and I am so grateful to have an angel that already knows all my dirty thoughts and dirty deeds. God this is just not fair! I always show your picture to people that I talk to if they have a "Big Red One" on their shoulder. I ask them if they where in Bamberg and if they recognized you. Some people actually do, well they say they do and I believe that is because you stand out in a crowd because you're such an amazing person. Your aura is very bright and I can still feel shining on me. I love you and I cherish the day when we will see each other again."
