"28 May 12

Robert, I met you on 25 Sept 2005. Col. Gary Patton sent me to help you that day. I was with you in that M113 Med track. I patched you up, I held your hand, I took you into the aid station, I watched you get loaded on the medevac bird for TQ. You were so strong brother, it amazed me. Through the whole event you never gave up. My memory of you, reminds me to never give up, find strength in our Lord. I strive everyday to be as strong as you. Thank You Robert for your sacrifice.I am humbled to have served alongside you."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"To the family of Robert Unruh:

I served in the same company as Robert in Korea and in Iraq. I had always found his cynicism appropriate to the situation and refreshing.

He was a good Soldier. Your pride in him is not misplaced, and I will never forget him, or his sacrifices.

May God Bless and keep you."
Jason of Altanta, GA

"Soldier Unruh,

I salute you!

forever indebted to you,"
Angela of Fort Worth, Texas

"To the Unruh family, Robert was one of my soldiers in Korea before he left for Iraq. He was shy, thin and quiet, and I questioned his abilities at first. But as time passed he proved himself as a responsible professional soldier, whom I could count on 24/7. When I heard of his passing, I wept not only for his familt but the Regiment. Robert had potential, and he was also very proud of his family's history of serving their country, back to his grandfather being a combat engineer on D-Day. I was totally heartbroken when I heard of his mothers passing. I know he had a very tight family and Robert is in my thoughts daily. God bless you and your friends and relatives."
