"seven years today we were pushing through Fallujah not knowing if we'd see tomorrow or even the sunset, i know i didn't. i know the one thing that kept me sane was knowing i had people that looked out for me and i looked out for them. we drifted on with our lives once we discharged but the bonds never died or weakened. we had some great times and i cant wait to see you again one day in another life. your impact on my life is ever lasting and i thank you for that. this month has always been rough for me and i know for the others of B co. But knowing your not here in person, you live everyday in my heart and soul. knowing that we will once again see each other keeps me going."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"To the the Torres Family; I am honored to have served in combat next to your son. He has never faded out of anyones mind who has served next to him. Your son had a gift that we at 1st Battalion 5Th Marines, 3rd platoon know personally. That gift is only seen in brave, loving, caring people, that are nothing short of being an angel. And that is what I will always remember your son as. We are all related, we, in 3rd platoon are all brothers and will never forget one another, as we will never for get Georgie. Love you man."

"To the family of PFC George Torres, we're still hurting for your loss. I can't begin to express our empathy. I know too well that our situations could've easily been reversed. My son, L.Cpl. Dustin M. Pangelinan ("Pang"), told me so many nice things about George. He was a good Marine and a good young man. Now Bravo 1/5 has someone watching their backs from Heaven while they're in Iraq for the 3rd time. Sometimes I wonder if George helped my son pull through when his condition was dangerously uncertain after they got hit. It's a thought that gives me much comfort. I wish I had words or thoughts for you that could give you comfort. We will never forget George and, although I never had the honor of meeting him, I will always have a deep appreciation and respect for him. We still pray for your healing and comfort and for George's much deserved peace.
With all my heart, Camille"
