"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"I live in Lynchburg, Va., the home of Thomas Road Baptist Church. On July 4, 2006, I attended a service at the church in honor of the fallen soldiers in Iraq. A "Healing Field" was set up with a U.S. Flag in memory of every person that has given his life in Iraq to defend our liberty. I received the flag that was flying "in grateful memory of Jonathan Tessar" and it is now flying in my yard as a reminder of the sacrifice Jonathan made for me and other Americans. My condolences to the family. THANK YOU JONATHAN, for your love of our country and your sacrifice - May you never be forgotten. 9/6/06"

"Sgt. Tessar was struck down in the same IED explosion alongside my brother PFC David Martin. We keep his photograph alongside my brother's in our living room. There really are no words...no expressions to describe the pure, utter agony of the loss of our soliders...it rips my heart to pieces each and every day. Sgt Tessar will live on in my heart as not only one of the warriors who fell alongside my brother but a hero in the truest sense of the words.
Always missed, memory eternal, Thank you Sgt Tessar you'll never be forgotten"

"My I personally thank Sgt. Tessar for his long career in our military. If not for individuals like Sgt. Tessar, we would not live in the freedom we have. We go about our daily lives with not enough thought or thanks to those whom protect us from the evils of today's world.
We, on this Veteran's Day should stand tall as a people and unite in support of all Americans serving today, yesterday and most of all the ones who sacrificed their lives for us.
I never met Sgt. Tessar or any of the other soldiers whom have given their life for me, my family and yours. If I had, he and they would be forever welcome to in my home.
My the Tessar family find strength in knowing that their Son, Brother, Husband and Father did what he wanted to do, SERVE HIS COUNTRY.
THANK YOU Sgt.Jonathan Tessar"
