Siekert died in Bayji, Iraq, from non-combat related injuries. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on December 6, 2005.
