"To the family:
I was with Timothy when he passed. I was dropped with a Navy medical unit in western Iraq. He fought hard and was a brave human. Please know that everything was done possible. He is one that I think of often and have never forgotten his name, face or the events of that night. Thank you for giving the world Tim, even for a short time. I'm sorry I couldn't have done more."
Paul of North Carolina

"Dear Mr. and Mrs Shea,
Tonight, during the airing of 60 minutes, my husband and I were deeply
touched by your story and thank you for sharing.
As you spoke of the loss of your son we were taken back in time to when
our son, Tim Shea also in the Army, served in Iraq and the worry and
fear that accompanied those words. We are deeply saddened for your loss, and believe you to be an amazing inspiration to all.
We send our deepest condolences."

"Tim, today I sent an email to your Mom with a photo one of Jon's and your Ranger friends had posted on Facebook, of BCO back in the Fall of 2004, before your first deployment. Your Mom wrote back saying that today, Sept. 13 is your birthday...so happy that she got it today...she called it an extra blessing. Happy Birthday in Heaven Tim...tell Jon Hey from his Mom...hugs to all you BCO Rangers in the Sky! RLTW!"

"Memorial Day May 2012. Tim rarely does a day goes by that I don't think about you and the passionate way that you lived your life. Evident this was in your concern for others and your dedication to your mission and to your fellow Rangers. When I say my daily Aves for you, in my mind's eye I see you with that Tim smile and internally hear you say "It's okay Aunt Nancy. It's all good". I know one of these days all of us who love you will be beside you saying those very words."
Nancy Santucci of Sacramento, CA

"I was the last man to talk to Tim before he passed. He went asking about the conditions of the rest of the men. He was in no pain. To show respect and to alway remind me of those men i named my Nephew born a few weeks after I unfortunately got to catch up with the injured at Walter Reed with my own life altering wounds His name is Trevor Shea Hatt...The boy already knows the story of Tims and Trevors lives and is proud to have been named after true heros."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. I'll always remember doing liturgical dramas with you, and even though we weren't close as high-school students, I always considered your family part of my family.
