"SSG Scott it's amazing how so many years can pass by however I think about you and the other fallen hero's that made the ultimate sacrifice in the Bastogne Battalion. I continually pray for your family and children. I often wonder if they are ok. Thank you SSG Scott for standing tall when called to protect our nation's freedom. "Staff Sgt. Scott,
My goodness, I just finished writing Sgt Flanagan and Spc. Frantz and you'd think I would stop tearing up. Before you think I'm crazy, let me introduce myself. My name is Scott, but when we met in Iraq, I was 1Lt Scott Perez, the Officer In Charge of sending you home. I want you to know that your return home was honorable and unforgetfull. Though we accepted death as part of our mission, no one will forget your service to this country. I'm telling you Staff Sgt. Scott, there were thousands of people there giving you one last salute. It was freezing when you boarded that west bound plane one last time at 0300hrs. I saw you when they brought you in and I saluted you with pride and dispare as you left. Your sacrifice is equal only to those who paid the same price, and your sacrifice will not be in vain. I read the below messages and I can see that you are loved by many. I'm sorry it took me more than a year to say hello, but with Memorial Day closing in on me, though I tried to forget...I couldn't, and I shouldn't, and I won't. Thank you for protecting me and my family. I will never forget you."
