"Brandon you know its been 9 years today. I can say everyone that was with you, You are still missed everyday. I still remember you checking into Charlie company. Fresh out of Engineer School. You where the cockiest but yet most confident boot out of all. On my last deployment to al Assad in 08 we passed that location. I wondered so many things every time. Why you why anyone from that deployment. I hope your kid is as strong willed as you and as good at basketball like you.. Till Valhalla. SEMPER FI devil."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com"

"Brandon, there is not a day that goes by that I wonder if anything could have been done differently that night to prevent what happened. Your smerk use to drive me crazy especially when I might be hollering at you. You never missed the opportunity to find the best in any situation, regardless of the difficulty or circumstances. I am honored to have been your platoon commander and know that heaven is a better place with you in it.

I know you took your basketball with you, and I got dibs on the first game when we meet again."

"I can't believe I just found this memorial today Nov 28 2008. I was in Schuck's company in Iraq, Charlie Company. He was in a different platoon but I remember him fondly. Brandon and I didn't always see eye to eye and I guess that is due to his strong character and personality. He was a great Marine and I would bet on him being a great husband and father. He always talked about his little guy. I remember the night it happened. My thoughts and prayers go out to Brandon and his family.... He will be missed and never forgotten, guard our street devil dog."
