"I had the honor of serving with Chris in B co, 2nd Plt, 2nd squad. He was a great leader, friend, and brother. He taught me so much, especially in my first days in the unit. He truly cared for us all. I will miss all of the great times we had. Too many memories come to mind, from 4 wheelin at the lake, to the 2nd PLT "Misfits" nights out on the town. I still pray for his family daily. Its been many years but you will forever be remembered and forever be in our hearts.

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com"

"I served with Chris in B Company 1/327th Infantry at Fort Campbell from 2000 to 2001. He was a hysterically funny guy. His loss is truly a tragedy. I was shocked when I heard of it. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends for their loss. I will always remember his smiling face and the smiles he put on others' faces with some wisecrack he came up with. His name is one of the few that stuck with me when I left Campbell. Chris had lots of friends in the unit and was well thought of by all. God bless the Schornak family. And thank you and Chris for his service and sacrifice. I know he slept peacefully at night over there knowing his family loved and supported him."

SO SHE TOOK ME IN AND AND FOR THAT I THANK HER. CHRIS WAS A SILLY GUY. HE LOVED HIS FAMILY SO MUCH. HE WOULD DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING FOR THEM. THE LAST TIME I SAW CHRIS WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE HE LEFT TO IRAQ. AND I REMEMBERED TELLING HIM TO BE SAFE AND THAT I WOULD SEE HIM SOON. I NEVER DREAMED THAT I WOULD GET A PHONE CALL TELLING ME THAT HE WAS SHOT A KILLED. THAT DAY I WAS SITTING IN MY HOUSE WATCHING T.V. WHEN MY PHONE RANG AND I SAW IT WAS ROBYN CALLIN. RIGHT THEN I KNEW WHAT HAPPENED. OUR FAMILY SPENT ALOT OF TIME TOGETHER. BETWEEN BBQ'S AND PARTYS. THE LOST OF CHRIS HIT HOME. MY HUSBAND AND HIM WENT FISHING TOGETHER, DRANK TOGETHER. EVERYDAY I THINK ABOUT ROBYN AND MY LIL MAN THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE HIS DADDY. I WISH THAT I CAN DO MORE FOR THEM. I MISS CHRIS ALOT. I THINK ABOUT HIM ALL THE TIME. ROBYN IF U READ THIS I LOVE U GIRL. AND I HOPE THAT U R DOIN GOOD. TELL MY LIL MAN THAT I LOVE HIM TOO AND THAT I WILL BE COMING OUT THERE REAL SOON. I KNOW ONE DAY WE WILL SEE CHRIS AGAIN. THANK U FOR EVERYTHING U DID FOR US.
