"I first met SSgt Barry Sanford at the AAFES shoppet in BK. Many times I believe that he got in my checkout line so that he could say, “God Bless” before I did. At 0430 some of us Army wives prayer warriors would walk up & down our neighborhood praying for all of BK. One morning, baby boy saw us and Intrigued us to come up the hill and pray for his family & a new business. When I saw him again he was in all white going to the opening of his new club & his daughter’s singing career had taken off. After that, on his way walking to work he would stop by & knock on my balcony, then ask, “What’s the word for today?”. In remembrance of the first soldier to lay down His life, Jesus Christ: He came from heaven because he did not want to live in heaven without you.
If the man that hung on one of the cross beside Jesus, is in Paradise with Jesus, Then So is
SSGT Barry Sanford.
God Bless."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

A hundred times a day, I remind myself that my inner and outer life depends on the labors of other men, living and dead, and I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am receiving. - Albert Einstein"

"In Loving Memory..Its been a year..

At the rising of the sun and at its going down, We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of Winter, We remember them.
At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of Spring, We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of Summer, We remember them.
At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of Autumn, We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends, We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
Rest in Peace Dear Soldier!!! We will NEVER FORGET!"

"To Mrs. Sanford, Mrs. Davis, Tahira and Barry Jr: I grieve with you. Barry had grown into a responsible adult - loving husband and father, serving his country so that we can be free. We went to college together and were married and divorced many, many years ago. He found my name on classmates.com and contacted me to tell me he was saved and loved the Lord, and to apologize for our early years. May God be with your during this time. s_sanford@hotmail.com"
