"I just found out that you passed away, you will always be my love and will always be in my heart. I am so hurt that you are gone but you are still in my heart, and on my mind. Forever that's where u will stay. Thank you,for all the good times we shared. Thank you, for all the love you gave me. I am sorry you are gone because, I didn't get a chance to say good-bye. I always thought we would meet up again but,I guess I was wrong. Then again, I know I am right I know we will meet again. Maybe not on earth but in heaven. What we have is true love and I know we loved each other even though we were not together; you were living your life and I was living mine. But, I want you to know and everyone else to also know our love is and always will be ever- lasting. It may be a friendly love but it was true love and I say that with the most utmost respect . I can't believe you're gone. I miss you, and will always treasure the times we shared. To all your family I am so sorry for your lost; Efrain was a good man, hard working and very smart. May GOD be with you all and GOD BLESS. Again, I say all this with the most respect to all. GOD BLESS."

"I just noticed that it has been a year now since you have left us to be somewhere better! Again, I would like to thank you for your sacrifices to try and make this world a better place. I hope you will not be disappointed at the fact that even after a year, nothing has really been resolved and young men and women continue to die for this country. It will get better, it has to right?!

I miss our L's Eli!! I miss you staying over on Poningo talking my ear to death, giving me good advice, and stressin my home girl! ;) Those were the good old days...I had a good couple of years w/you and won't forget you. I hope Sonia and the rest of your family, especially tu hija are doing well. I pray for some type of peace for them. You were a great person Eli, I don't ever think I told you. I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to tell you either. If you're watching over us, take care of us please - God knows we could all use you watching over us. Con much amor!"

"Dear Sanchez Family,

In the short time Efrain was alive he touched so many,
We know his heart was gold especially to his friends and family,
Time marches on and we hope it will ease your pain,
Even though the love you have for him will always remain the same.

"May God Bless your family!

The Marine stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you Marine,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"

The Marine squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Marine waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, you Marine,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

"Dear Family of Efrain Sanchez: I lost my son, Marine LCpl Chad Maynard, on June 15, 2005 in Ramadi. When I heard the news about your son, it was like I was reliving that day all over again. It's hard for me to type this even now. I'm so sorry for your loss. On the temporary head stone on my son's grave is the saying, "Not In Vain". That is truly what my son believed and what we, as his family, have to believe every day. Please know that I feel your pain and loss, and I cry with you. They say time eases the pain, and I guess they may be right, but with every new report, I feel the ache of missing my son so much. Always remember, you are not alone. There are others who love you and care about you and know exactly what you are going through. Thank you for your son and his service to us all."

"To the family of LCpl Sanchez:

Efrain was a hero to all, including myself. Although I have never met you, I express my deepest condolences for you. My brother, PFC Joshua Klinger was killed on June 14th in Fallujah. The next month (and many more) will be extremely hard, but always remember Efrain as a hero (as I'm sure you have). What is getting me through Josh's death is remembering that.

I will keep you all in my prayers.
God bless,

Seth Klinger"

But that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday, and
days before that too.

We think of you in silence,

your picture in a frame.

Your memory is keepsake, in which
we'll never part.

We have you in our hearts....."
