"Here we are again Tink, 11yrs down sitting at my desk on a beautiful morning, tears running down my face just waiting for the first glimpse of the suns rays to break the fog. Find you in nature right! Its a beautiful day to do that, birds are already singing your songs. I miss you everyday brother until then ..."

"SGT Rowe not a day goes by that I don't think about you and the other Steel Spike brothers we lost in Ramadi. Even with all the bad news out of that city lately I want everyone to know our sacrifices were not in vain and that you will never be forgotten and your legacy of valor, motivation and "hard charging" attitude lives on in sappers everywhere."
LTC Daren Payne

"Mike..... its been so hard to talk about you since our deployment. I remember every second of the day you left us. I am still in the Army and from time to time I run into my fellow Ryders. I happen to run into SSG Forney in St. Louis. I had to fight back tears when I hugged him. I have been back to the war zone several times since 2006 and I must say that all of you guys were the best platoon I ever served with. Mike, I had the chance to go see your parents and your lovely daughter in Florida. She is beautiful. I still have your braclet on my wrist and a double R tattooed on my right arm. Until we meet again brother."

I will never forget how intense you were in ensuring you had all the intelligence necessary to safely lead your convoys. There is a hole in my heart that can't be filled now that you're gone. We like it Ruff! I pray peace to your family, especially Little Miss Nevaeh every chance I get. God Bless you for your ultimate sacrifice. From Carol Anderson, your Battalion Commander."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry at times. I understand, in theory only, that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take your families and friends pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

A hundred times a day, I remind myself that my inner and outer life depends on the labors of other men, living and dead, and I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am receiving. - Albert Einstein"

"To the family of Michael Rowe, my name is Jim Vanderbleek and I live in St. Petersburg, Florida. This Memorial Day 2010 I wanted to do something special for the “Fallen Floridians” since 2001. I wanted to honor them in a way that would be a touching tribute in the eyes of the community as a reminder that we must not forget the sacrifice they and their families have given for all of us. A special cross, along with the other 238 fellow Floridian brothers and sisters, was erected on the church grounds of Northeast Presbyterian Church. Your son's cross is on display through June 5th, 2010. The photo attached shows the entire display. The link attached will take you to a slide show in Honor of Brave Men and Women of our Armed Forces. There will be many prayers for your son this weekend as we pay tribute to all of the Fallen Soldiers from 1775 to 2010 during our worship service on Sunday May 30th.

I thank Michael, and all those like him, who make my freedom possible."
