"I woke up to you in my thoughts this morning. Miss and love you nods. May us all remember your kindness and thoughtfulness. Still remember that day. A sad and deep cut as always deep wounds do heal but the scars can still feel pain. They can be irritated and itch. Rest easy plowman(nods)."

"Dear family of Derek:
I was the Sergeant Major at Camp Cropper while Derek was serving there. I still to this day remember when they came to my room and told me what had happened to Your Son.Having lost my youngest Son in Afghanistan, Year after year I share the grief your family endures everyday. Know that your son was a model soldier and someone who could be counted on at all times.May you find the peace to get you through the trying times and know that someday we will be together again with those who left us much to early. God Bless your family and bring you peace."
Sergeant Major Richard Winkleman (Ret) of Lakeville, Ohio

"Hello, my name is Kayla Osborne. I am someone who was lucky enough to escape Daniel Turner. I say luck because when dealing with a human as twisted and manipulative as Daniel Turner is... it's not your strength that saves you from him... it's pure luck. I also know how strong, smart, and loyal Derek was. If it were strength that saves you from Daniel Turner, Derek would still be here. Derek was stronger than Daniel. Stronger in his heart mind and soul. I just got out of a very abusive and sickened relationship with Daniel Turner. He preyed on me and stalked me several months before I even knew who he was. He manipulated me, a woman ten years younger than him. I was gullible and desperate for love. He took that and tried to destroy me. I can only hope my story helps people to stay away from him. There is no hope for Daniel's serenity because he is already too far gone. I spent the last year with Daniel Turner... every minute of every day. There is no hope there. I pray for Derek's family though. Just know Derek only ever tried to help Daniel while they were overseas together. Derek was there for Daniel every bit of what he could be. Daniel will reap what he sews. My story will be publicized as well and all of the damage he caused after the trial. I go to testify against Daniel April 19th at 9 am."

"I wanted to offer my sincerest condolences. I did not know this man, but I'm about a young as he.
I am overwhelmed just trying to picture passing on so young, but in my foremost thoughts... I know that I can live free because of this brave young warrior."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"Derek was a close friend of mine before he join back in Arkansas, i have known him since i was in 5th grade, i am 18 and graduated now. I miss him very much, and i will never forget him."

"Daniel Turner was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in military prison. So why is he a free man walking the streets and STILL racking up charges? He is currently charged with kidnapping and gun charges in his home town of Russellville Arkansas. They didnt even hold him on the charges! They cut him loose until his court date. I guess someone else has to die before someone can do anything. The military isnt working with the local government from what I hear as far as using his charge from the National gaurd in these "new" charges. He is a loose cannon and needs to be detained for the safety of all!"
