"To the family of Juan Lopez,
I was born in San Luis de la Paz and my parents migrated to this country when I was only 3 so I have almost no memories of my birth place but I've never forgotten where I come from. When I heard on the news about Juan, it was bittersweet. I was so proud that he was from San Luis and was out there representing us and so sad that he lost his life fighting for this country. I love this country, there is no place else I rather be but sometimes I question if this country loves us back. I just wanted to let you guys know that my whole family feels for you and your loss. We hope you find comfort in knowing Juan is a hero to us all.Tengo 2 bebitas y cuando las miro pienso en todos los soldados y en especial en Juan, que an ponido su granito de arena para el bien estar de ellas y de todos nosotros. Muchas gracias por su gran sacrificio y que descanse en paz."

"Juan will never be forgotten. As his first English teacher when he arrived in the US, I feel VERY proud and honored to have known him. I keep his letters of admiration and thankfulness he wrote for me during his high school years with much respect and affection. I remember saying to other classmates, as a way to set a good example, 'If I had a daughter I'd like for someone just like Juan to marry her.' He was the kind of student I'll never forget. I pray for his wife and family and I am thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to be his teacher. Now, however, he's become my teacher, by showing me the ultimate sacrifice. Juan, thanks for always being a good kid, and for what you've done for all of us, regardless of race.

Sinceramente tu maestra siempre,"

"I saw on FoxNews that the funeral for this Marine (in SAN LUIS DE LA PAZ, Mexico) was interrupted by Mexican Soldiers. How disgusting and disgraceful for them to interrupt the funeral of a Marine.

My heart felt condolences go out to the family of this fellow Devildog. God Bless him.
