"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry at times. I understand, in theory only, that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take your families and friends pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

A hundred times a day, I remind myself that my inner and outer life depends on the labors of other men, living and dead, and I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am receiving. - Albert Einstein"

"I served with Kyle as a Marine while he was attached to Golf 2/8. We both were scout swimmers together. He was definitely the funny one. He always knew how to make people laugh. He was a great Marine but a better friend. He always looked out for his junior Marines. He will greatly be missed.

"Kyle was NOT just a soldier. He was so much more . He was one of the funniest people we know. Our families were very tight and we still are. Betsy's doing great with Keira and keeping up with everything ya'll planned on. I know your up there so proud of how strong and what an awsome Mom she is. Keira , wow is all i can say she's such a character and Kyle she still talks about you daily. It is heartbreaking to Thad and I to hear sometimes but awsome none the less. YOu will live on and on in our hearts. Your sorely missed Kyle.. Sorely missed~"

"This message is tough to type, even now, a year and a half since Kyle died. I was in the same flight school class as Kyle, and in fact, wouldn't be flying if it weren't for him. I had injuries in our final phase of training that affected my ability to complete the road march. If it weren't for Kyle running along side me, giving me encouragement and helping me, I wouldn't be doing my job today. He is the ONLY reason I was able to push through it. He just knew how to bring out the best in me and all of us around him.

Kyle and I actually linked up while I was in Iraq. We spent about 2 months hanging out at the flight line together in between missions. He was so eager to get up and help out his brothers, who had been flying crazy hours when they got there, and I kept telling him "You'll get your chance..."

If Kyle's family ever reads this, thank you from the bottom of my heart for raising such a fine, outstanding human being.

I will, until the day I die, always remember Kyle Jackson and the TREMENDOUS impact he had on my life. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for that outstanding human heart.

God Bless You Kyle. Thanks from the bottom of my heart and I'll see you again.
