"Here are some links to photos I took at The Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial, Marseilles, IL near my house. The project was built with donated material and labor and is the first of its kind in the history of the United States to give honor to our fallen by name while a conflict is ongoing.

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

A hundred times a day, I remind myself that my inner and outer life depends on the labors of other men, living and dead, and I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am receiving. - Albert Einstein"

"I went to school with Ben (7th-12th grade). I still can't believe he's gone. I heard that there was some unknown reason why he died with so many medical personnel there, but no matter now. I miss him a great deal. I disagree with this war."

"I had the honor of calling Ben ‘one of my soldiers’ during his train-up prior to his deployment. His work ethic, loyalty, and kindness are reflections of his family and friends growing up. His quietness had the ability to speak volumes. Never once do I recall hearing him complain, even when there were times he should have been complaining. A good soldier and friend has been taken. My deepest sympathy and sorrow goes out to the family and friends that lost a fine young man taken well before his time."
