"To Adam,
It has been nearly 6 years since you were taken. I want you to know, that I have not forgotten that day. I've not forgotten your sacrifice, nor has my family. I can never earn the gift of freedom and life that you gave to your brothers on that day, but I can make sure that those whom I have contact with know, and never forget. I will see you again one day. Until then,

"I met Adam for the first time after the Portage High School Prom at Indian Beach...the last time I heard from him was 31March2005. When he called me to tell me that he was going to Iraq again for the second time, he assured me that when he came home, him and Alex were going to get an apartment in Chicago and become big business men. When I found out that he had fallen, my heart fell too along with all the rest of his friends and family. My heart aches in sorrow and sympathy, and I wanted to send a message out to Adam's family to let you know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers."

"Dear Harting Family,
I want you to know that I know tha pain you are feeling, my brother SPC Jonathan Kephart was killed in Baghdad on April 8th of last year. Words cannot express tha pain you are going through, but I hope it helps to know from someone who has been there that you are in my thoughts and prayers. These soldiers are true American heroes, and we can be so proud of them. I live close to you, and would love to get together with you once everything settles down a little for you! It seems like once this happens, those of us who have been left behind are bonded for life. We rest assured that we will see Jonathan again someday! Again, much love and prayers to you and your family! I went to Adams viewing and could tell from all those there that he was an incredible soldier, and person, who is loved and missed. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know!

"Dear Harting family, No words will ever replace Adam. Nothing will change the hurt. But please know that I appreciate beyond my ability to express the sacrifice your brave son and brother made. America has lost the best it has. We have lost a true hero. May God bless your family. May the empty place in your heart be replaced with wonderful memories knowing that Adam gave his life for the noblest of causes - freedom for others."

"To the loved ones of Adam Harting, I want to express my deepest condolences to you on the loss of Adam. Our country lost a courageous soldier, but most importantly your family lost a confidant, brother, uncle, grandbaby, cousin and son. For 21 years you witnessed a small boy’s growth into a man to admire and emulate. The blessing is his 21 years with you was your contribution in influencing his path in life. I thank you and your family for your part in making this fallen soldier a part of our force that had enough courage to stand up to for freedom and the American Flag. It does take a truly special human being to put everything on the line. Everything.
I met Adam and his brother once and failed to thank them for the services they are providing to each and every American. They, like so many other brave soldiers, are ensuring that my son and daughter can grow up in a free society and a safer America. I thank them now and I will thank any member of our military, past or present, I encounter for they have courageously put their country before all else. That is the least they and their families deserve for the sacrifices they make. God bless you."

"TO THE HARTING FAMILY FROM THE WAHL FAMILY. OUR HEART AND PRAYS ARE WITH ADAM AND YOUR FAMILY. WE LOST OUR SON LAST YEAR. ALL THIS IS VERY HARD! YOU KNOW ADAM BETTER THEN ALL. I ONLY WISH I HAD. STILL I THANK HIM FOR SERVING OUR GREAT COUNTRY AND BEING ALONG SIDE OUR SON. NOT MANY AMERICAN'S THAT SERVE. SO IT IS A COMFORT TO KNOW THAT ADAM WAS A VERY SPECIAL MAN, FAMILY MAN, SOLDIER AND A BLESSING TO ALL PARENTS THAT HAVE SOMEONE SERVING ALONG SIDE ADAM. ADAM HAS TOUCHED THE HEARTS OF SO MANY. AN ALL THOSE HEARTS HE TOUCHED HOLD VERY FOND MEMORIES BOTH SHARED TOGETHER. ADAM YOU ARE A HERO! ONE THAT IS REMEMBERED TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER NEVER EVER TO BE FORGOTTEN. I WILL BE WITH GREGORY SATURDAY, I WILL TELL HIM OF YOU. SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT IN MY HEART GREGORY IS ALWAYS WITH ME. AN I MADE EVREY EFFORT TO CELEBRATE OF HIM AND ALL OUR FALLEN. I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO FORGET ANY SOLDIER THAT GAVE HIS LIFE! ADAM YOU HAVE NOT GIVEN YOUR LIFE IN VAIN. AMERICA IS ALOT SAFER TODAY. YOU WORKED ALONG MANY BRAVE SOLDIER'S TO FIGHT OFF TERRORISM AND TO GIVE THOSE IN IRAQ FREEDOM AND LIBERTY. YOU ADAM ARE APART OF HISTORY. MANY AMERICAN'S DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE CALLING TO SERVE, NOR CARE TOO! YOU DID RISKING EVERYTHING FOR THOSE THAT TAKE FREEDOM AND LIBERTY FOR GRANTED. ADAM THOSE IN YOUR COMMUNITY WILL HONOR YOYU TODAY.......IT'S TOMORROW AND FOR ALL THOSE TOMORROW'S. THAT ALL FALLEN FAMILIES NEED TO KEEP FRESH IN THE MIND OF ALL AMERICAN'S. GOD BLESS!!! SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! FINE SOME WAY TO HONOR ADAM.......DOING SOMETHING FOR A FRIEND OF ADAM SERVING OUR COUNTRY."
