"PFC Gaylord, I barely knew you and on the day you sacrificed it all I had returned home on leave. In some strange ways I feel guilty that I couldn't covince our leaders into mounting extension turrets to the RG31's. If they had push for those extension, I wouldn't have went home on leave and you might still be with us. So I continue to remember you this time each year and on our birthday each year. Seem as though even years apart we were born on the same date, February 27th. Your past is also on a day I will never forget My wife's Birthday and our anniversary .

R.I.P. Soldier, R.I.P. Gaylord!"
Ret. SSG Todd M Arp of Shelbina

"UNCLE AL!! wow.. I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since you've been gone. I still miss you like it was yesterday tho. I wish you were still here and could help me through this time of need in my deployment.. It's not easy being deployed, especially at 18. It's hard. You get looked down on a lot just because of your age, but then they want to use you for everything they can. You know how that goes. I hope your watching over us soldiers and I'll see you soon. I miss you and I love you."
