"Well Cuz it's that time again. Going back to the box. This time it's Afg. I get asked all the time why, after 30 years I stay in. Why? At my age I'm still deploying? How? Can I stay motivated and committed after we've lost so many like you? You know the answer. The fight will continue. You and our brothers sacrifices will not be in vain. Please look over me and my troops. I love you primo and think about you often. Look after your pops. I got a missed call from him today and I know my leaving brings back the worst of memories for him. Settle his heart and mind. Remind him you have my six.
To Kids Boys, I'll be at Hood in a week for mobe. I'd be proud to have a beer with any of you who are still around. 305-505-0734"

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry at times. I understand, in theory only, that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take your families and friends pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"To the family and friends of SGT. Javier J. Garcia,
I remember when he was with 2nd BCT in '03. The one thing that caught my attention was his smile. No matter what the situation was, he was smiling. I ran into him numerous times throught the war and in OIF 3. The thing that hurts the most is that I didn't get to speak much to him. But, I still talk to my fellow soldiers in my prayers everyday. I know they are listening and I know that SGT. Garcia is smiling.
I'll see you one day bro. You and the others. For the Lord said it so...and it will be good."

"Did G change MOS's? I knew him as a M1 serires tank master! I see a lot of folks from 26 FSB here. Just wondering if I missed that change in his life. I remember when he told me he reenlisted for Stewart. I told him, the grass aint always greener...he said he was tired of the fast paced training we did at the Hood. Our BN CO, COL Fisk trained us harder than any other unit in the Cav, but we were the best for it! Train hard and play hard. When the war kicked off, I couldn't believe how unlucky (for those of us with the fighting spirit, we call it lucky!) G was...see the grass aint always greener. Now all of us have at least a tour under our belt, I know G was on his second. Anyways, just wondering why all the great messages from the FSB folks!"

"Brothers in Arms...there is no tighter bond. Those of you who remember Javier, you know how great a person he IS! You know that Green Honda...now you are smiling, even if a tear is in your eye! Remember a cold beer on a hot summer night in Texas! oh so long ago, yet yesterday. I served as one of Javiers Drill Sergeants and a PLT SGT in a sister platoon (G is an honorary Bandit...and helped our team to shoot many a target - always motivated and brought a smile!) It is with heart felt loss that I pronounce to all the G will always be what the Bandits stand for...Pride, Courage, Honor - and raising hell so everyone knows we are there! I miss you brother...wish I had known about this page earlier...never forget. All gave some, some gave all! RIP Bandit, see you on the next battlefield!"
